Custom LED blinking sidemarker

Re: Custom LED blinking sidemarker
With the white LEDs, you can't put more than four in a series. Since there were six for the parking light circuit, I just made three and three connected to the same resistor.

I don't follow you about the resistor value for the 4 LEDs. If you were to use 4 of these LEDs, you wouldn't need a resistor. Technically a 27ohm resistor. The Vf is 3.4 and the current is 30ma for one of the white LEDs.
Here are some video clips:

Re: Custom LED blinking sidemarker
THe white LEDs are 10,000 MCD. They require more juice than the typical amber once. It was such a pain in the neck figuring out how to neatly arrange the resistors (3). I must have krazy glued my finger to the sidemarker a dozen times while trying to seat them properly. Another thing to keep in mind is that while the car is running, it will put out a max of 14.4 volts through the electrical system after it passes through the alternator. Highest reading I took with a multimeter was 14.1 lowest was 11.8. I calculated with the max voltage so I wouldn't run the risk of a burn out when making them for someone else.
What did you use your LEDs for, the same thing? Got any pictures?

Re: Custom LED blinking sidemarker
Any way you could take a picture of the back of the side marker showing the resistors and the LED's?

Re: Custom LED blinking sidemarker
I shipped the clear pair out yesterday No more pics.
You wouldn't be able to see the resistors since they are all concealed in the bulb socket area. As for the LEDs, just picture the back of LEDs stuck into the plastic housing, covered with silicone, covered with a superthin plastic film. The film is just there to make everything cleaner/neater. Not really required. I may paint the film, but its kind of cool to see the LEDs connected with wires through the sealant.

Re: Custom LED blinking sidemarker
I used them for the the blinkers. Kept the factory bulb for sidemarkers, but I may change something around later.
