removing rear window brake light
Has anyone tried removing their rear window brake light before? The one that sits between the two rear speakers.
I have a spoiler with brake lights built in, the 06 OEM spoiler and really want to get rid of the window one.
Getting my back window retinted so it's a perfect time to remove it.

you'll need to replace your rear deck cover. It's a pretty big hole under the light cover. I don't know how difficult it will be to get the new rear deck in. If you do it by the book, you need to remove the rear seats and inner quarter panels.

if the OP is really ****, then yes he will need a new rear deck. however, seeing he's getting 18% tints, it will be hard to see anything inside, especially the hole where the 3rd brake light used to be. and from the inside, the rear seats are too high up for one to simply glance back and see the hole.
i left mine open, but stuffed some gray/black foam padding in to cover it. but you cant see it at all from the outside.

fold down the rear seats, push forward and up right in the middle of the 3rd brake light. it should lift right up. unhook the harness and off comes the brake light. takes less than 10 seconds.

Fold down rear seats, push forward and up on the 3rd brake light housing, disconnect the harness...

the tint, he said, wouldnt be a problem to go in between the housing and the glass.
