'04 Headlight/Turn Signal Question
I have a 2004 Laser Red coupe. I was wondering if anyone knew how to make it so the turn signal light ONLY turns on when the turn signal is engaged? Pretty much I don't want it to light up with regular lights or with parking lights. For Parking Lights, I just want corners and strip lights to light up, and with regular lights, I just want headlights, strips, and corners to light up.
Thanks in advance,
-Brian

In the 03-05 coupe headlights, the bulb in the signals is a 7443 bulb.
7443 bulbs are dual-filaments... one high, one low. The low strength filament is on with the parking light and the high strength filament is on when the signal is activated.
A quick and easy fix is to replace the bulb with a 7440 bulb, which is simply a single-filament bulb of the same size.
Here is a picture of a 7443 bulb, the one currently inside factory 03-05 coupe headlights. Notice the two different filaments for dual-function:
Here is a piccture of a 7440 bulb, which only has one filament and will only illuminate when you signal:
You can get to the bulb from entering from behind the wheel well, but I'm able to get to it from the engine bay.
Luckily, I have an aftermarket intake and reaching behind the driver's headlight is easy with a big gap. If you have the OEM airbox, it'll be tough.
As for the passenger headlight, I simply unbolt my fluid tank and move it aside and reach in behind the headlight.
The bulbs can be removed from the bottom of the headlights. Eyeball their location and reach underneath the headlight.
When you find the bulb, simply twist and pull the bulb out... much like pulling the bulb out of your amber/clear corners.
After you switch out the bulbs, re-install in reverse.
Hope this helps.

You shouldn't have to modify the connectors to fit a 7440 bulb in a 7443 socket.
It might be a bit of a tough fit, but the base of both bulbs are nearly the same. It's just the 7443 bulb has to more metal bases for the second filament.
The bulb will not hyperblink if you're using a regular filament bulb. It will only hypberblink if you're using an LED bulb.
Cutting the red wire should also stop power from reaching the bulb to illuminate the parking light.
Just don't cut the green wire... or else you can't signal and your car will hyperblink to indicate it believes one of your bulbs is burned out.
