What just happened? ****!

Ok, so I'm swapping out all my interior lights to super white LEDS.. Everythings going smooth I install both map lights, test them on and off. They look great.. So now onto the under door light.. I am popping this off with a flat butter knife.. everythings coming undone.. The all of a sudden I hear a light BZZZZZZ for a split second and the lights shut off.. I try to turn on the map lights and they're not working either.. I keep pushing the lights on and off but they wont light up.. The other side under door won't light up either

I start the car, shut it off.. Nothing.. Map lights and under door lights will not work.. Headlights, glove box, and dash lights all seem to be working fine. Just the map ones and under door lights aren't functioning at all. With regular bulbs and LED's they wont work!

What just happened? How do I fix this?

Yes, it did. The under door light was way too tight to take it off with my finger plus it was hot.. I was prying it out from the glass part and it was slowly coming out, thats when the BZZZ happened..

Where is the fuse box located? Under hood or by the pedals? Also which fuse?

sounds like you blew the fuse that operates the interior lights by touching it with the butter knife. next time shut your car off and disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
the fuse box is under the hood with the battery. your best bet would be to remove the cover on the battery and the fuse/fusible link holder. there should be a diagram in the fuse box. anything else just look at your owners manual.

I'll check it out.. The car never came with an owner manual but I'll figure it out.

Alright so I checked fuses under the hood and by the foot pedals.. Nothing.. All look good to me.. None of the panels say anything about an interior light.. Even if it did all fuses look good.. What the hell?

Is there a third fuse box? This car has so little fuses its not even funny.

If you use anything metal to remove a fuse and contact both sides with a metal implement, you will close the circuit and your pliers (butter knife lol) will act like a fuse with a VERY high amperage and may damage the electrical system or particular device. Simply work at one end of the fuse holder and prise at right angles to avoid accidentally slipping across the connector. In your case look for a fuse with a melted center strip. If there isnt one then go to autozone and buy a test light probe and tap the fuse to see which one is faulty and replace with the correct amperage and this time be careful. Hope this helps

if everything looked fine, disconnect the battery for a moment then try reconnecting it again.
