Bump... But only because i wanna know what size Surface Mount LED's they are.. He not once says it.. Are they 0603, 1205, etc.. Thats What i wanna know.

about how many hours total did this take? was it a PITA to remove the dash and what not, or did you have a spare set you swapped out?

well the real question is this.. its been almost 6years since this thread was created and now theres way more options for twist based LEDs, so how many are needed, and in what areas to complete this? some MUST be soldered but which ones, how many and where, can be just twist base??

i just got done doing this swap with a twist base LED and unless you can find some that have a WIDE viewing angle they will work with horrible hot spots during the day to where you can not see anything but the number where the bulb comes through.. Real LEDS are on the way and will be doing the same process as FREAK....

you need a acrylic sheet to place in front of the LEDs to diffuse the light. (a piece of paper does the same thing) in any case, the twist in LEDs don't provide enough regardless.
