Unfortunately, even if the bulbs color shift you will not get color on your cutoff line. This is actually a sign of a well designed projector. THe only way to get color is to crack open your headlights, change out the frensel lens for a clear one, and space out the reflector bowl/lens.

I think the stock 06' projectors give off plenty of color at the cutoff. The other day I was parked in front of a glass building, while I was pumping air into the tires. Sitting in the drivers seat, looking at the reflections of the projectors head on. It was definately bright blue/purple at the angle that I was parked, and I have regular Philips 4300 bulbs.

AVS007,

If you had to compare the color to other cars with projectors which car would it be? (Example: Is there as much color as a BMW, Audi, or Maxima? Or less color than those cars?)

I don't know a definitive answer, as I haven't spent much time with BMW/Audi/Maxima projectors. I do know they seem identicle to my wife's 05' TL's projectors.

On my way home from work today, I was behind a new BMW 3 series with projector xenons. It looked like the cutoff of the G's projectors on the side barrier were sharper. Or at least was throwing more light to the sides. It looked like the 3 series was throwing more light overall, but when I passed him I saw that he had his fog lights on.

The foglights on the G seem to suck. Either that or the off-brand superwhites I put in them are just really dim. I can't tell the difference between when they are on or off. On the stock headlights, I could tell a big difference when the fogs were on or off, but then again it was probably because the projectors are vastly superior to the original reflectors.

If I had to venture a guess, I would say that it isn't as colorful at the Audi lights, because I remember Audi's being irridescent purple. When I was staring at my lights in the reflection at the gas station, they seemed more irridescent blue, which is still pretty awesome in my book

Through the different treads that I've been reading on this forum, I've been getting the impression that the G's projectors does not give off that great of a color compared to the BMW's/Audi/Maximas. Rather it looks more like the FX's which isn't that great at all (white/yellowish).

This is the reason why I asked and wanted to see pictures. I went down to the dealer to see for my self but the cars were parked to close together and I wasn't able to stand back far enough to see the cut off/color. With what I saw it only confirmed that the color looked more like the FX's which gave me the impression that the projectors suck. However, I've been hearing different things from this forum/you, who's experienced something different.

Expecting them to look like BMW’s/Audi’s/Maxima’s may be a far stretch, but if they are comparable to the TL's then I have to say that I agree with you…….they are “still pretty awesome” and worth the money.

For me to find out for sure I guess I have to wait until mine come in and installed. I appreciate everyone’s feedback!

I guess it depends on what your expectations are. I didn't buy the projectors for the cutoff color. I bought them because I wanted better night visibility. The color was just a side benefit.

They seem comparable to the TL, but from what I've heard, the TL guys are complaining that their projectors aren't as colorful/pretty as the TSX and S2000, so the G's projectors are probably not going to give the same effect as the BMW/Audi.

In my garage, I tried looking into the projectors, and neither the G or the TL threw off any color besides white. I saw blue on the wall, so I figured there has to be color in there somewhere. By mere coincidence, when I was parked in front of a glass building at night, I noticed the projectors were bright blue at some angles.

They aren't as sharp as s2000 , tsx , or audi headlights. I'll give you that.

There is a bit of color at the cutoff though...a little blue and purple. I notice some yellow at certain angles which could have been engineered to light up signs and what not.

I would just say that they are a big improvement over the 03-05 headlights by far. Now I am hoping that if these bulbs were to color shift, will there be some nice improvement

Unfortunate, like someone else said on this forum, I don’t think that the color shift will give you more color in the flicker. The color in the flicker is the byproduct of the lens, not the bulb. To get the color you see on the TSX, S2000, or Audi one will prob. need to change/space out the lens.

Who will be the first to color mod the 06' projectors? I have mine on order and I'm thinking about modding them when I receive them but I am a little apprehensive about opening my brand new headlights. Hopefully someone will have more guts than me.

Forget audi/acura/bmw.....if you want to see color at the cutoff you need to look at SAAB projectors. Good lord, I saw two in the same week ( late model Saab 9-3s I think ) and from a distance they were hardcore blue, you'd thing it was some ricers running 10000K halogens. But as they got closer I saw that they were projector xenon HIDs and they became pure white. Something I def didnt expect from GM!
