I agree I love my new 06' projectors, I installed mine Monday night w/6000K D2S and piaa LED city lights. I will say this though the lights look yellow if you use OSARM 4100K bulbs. I suggest you buy 6000K bulbs but nothing higher becaue you will lose a significant amount of light output. I'm actually thinking of maybe getting a 5000K bulb. The color is great with the 6000K bulbs, wht, blue, purp but the light output suffers. Overall, I'm very happy with these new headlights. I'll post pics soon.

has anyone tried the TSX haknslash (hidplanet.com) washer mod on the 06 projectors to get more color in the cutoff? I am curious to know if it would work on these projectors

I would but I don't think i am crazy enough to open up the perfectly good lenses and exposing the OEM weather seals.

I have a pair tsx projectors I was thinking about swapping the G's lens with the clear tsx lens and also trying some washer mods. I agree with waterp7 though about opening a brand new set of headlights.

I read somewhere that the "coloring" occurs when there is a defect in the beam itself and a "perfect" projection SHOULD be completely white. Basically it wasn't done on purpose on BMWs and S2000s but it's just one of those lucky "defects" that actually turned out to be cooler than a perfect projection.

I think it was in EK's post but I can't remember if it was from HIDPLANET or here.

The coloring comes from a prism effect. If you can create the perfect distance between the lens and the shield, you can get some pretty sharp cutoff and color.

The best way to do this is through powering the HID with a computer power supply, then you can adjust that distance at will, and determine very quickly the optimum lens/shield distance. That's essentially what washer modding does.

Are the lenses on the 06 projectors fresnel or clear?

Here's TL projector modding:

I just installed my 06 projectors on my 04 and I would like ask for some help locating the screws to aim the lights vertically and horizontally. Please see attached picture and pls. advise which screws to use. Also, how much do you have turn the screws to make the projectors move?

My driverside light seem to project lower than the passanger side. Is this the case for any of you?

This is is for verticle aim. The picture was blurry, but it's the one that's a 8mm 6-point bolt. If you look in the thread titled, "Aiming headlights" a little below this one, you'll see my post where I detailed how to aim the lights.
