Should both the signal and city lights be amber bulbs? Is there really a problem using LED bulbs? Thanks.

can't go wrong with Philips 4300K D2S, unless you want to sacrifice light output for a little color, then go with the Philips Ultinon

4300K would be about what the color temp of the stock bulb is, although i'm not sure which brand infiniti uses for their 06 OEM headlights. the stock bulb from a 05 housing is D2R. stock bulbs from every OEM is between 4100-4300K, which gives maximum output (lumens)

The facotry 4100, 4300k will colorshift overtime of abotu 100 hours and you'll eventually end up closer to 5000k. That's why philips make a 85122+ bulb avaiable at the dealership, this is a 5000k bulb to match the used bulbs if one side has gotten into an accident and there's no need to replace both blubs to make the color look the same.

Best Regards,
Larry
See, now there's some good useful info. I got those 85122+ bulbs b/c they were 5000K. Wanted just marginally more color, without sacrificing much output. Didn't know all that until now...

where do you guys buy these bulbs? i can seem to find a legit place for philips 6000k ultinon d2s bulbs... or the city lights (which i now know should not be LEDS), etc.

just in case i don't get 06/07 (?) projectors, does philips make 6000k ultinons in d2r? where can i get them?

also, i just wanted to make sure, 07 g35 lights/housings will work on 05 g35, right?

and to install these lights, would it be easier to go through wheel well on both sides? or move bumper? how much harder is it on wheel wells w/ & w/o wheel?

thanks soooo much.

I beg to differ on the 5000K bulbs and this relates to 6000K bulbs as well.

Colorshift is a real change in Kelvin color of an older bulb, HOWEVER, it is also marked by reduced Lumen (lighting output)
so what Larry has said was NOT true, his statement implies that they are the same, however a colorshifted 4300K bulb is no where close to a 5000K 85122+ bulb when new in Lumen output. It may be true that they can be used for color matching, however it is ill-advised for anyone to replace only one bulb, this also applies to ballasts, as different ballasts of different age will produce visible difference in light output as well.

Insurance companies hardly ever take the "correct" steps, they take the cheapest ones. Thats why a 5000k bulb is offered. Most people won't notice, and thats why they can get away with it

you can get ultinons from hidoutlet.com for 135 a piece i think. get your leds from vleds.com

yes ultinons come in d2r and you can get them from hidoutlet.com for the same price the last time i checked

yes 06+ lights are plug and play on the 03-05 coupes

if you have small hands then through the wheel well is fine
