I've already got the headlights and have the taillights on order, as well as a couple other items. Considering how small of a change it is to the car, I feel it makes a far more dramatic change in the appearance of the car than any body kit.

And it always gives me a chance to pimp my car and give Mike props on a solid product.

Thats cool, I like it when everybody does their own thing, but why not get the '06 lamps which already have projectors and no clearance strip than go through the hassle of doing it that way? Or are you doing it just so you can get the TSX projectors? I don't really think they're really that much better than whats on the '06 to justify the hassle, and even if you're going to paint the shroud, still probably quicker and easier to do it to an '06 instead of a modded '03-'05. The one thing I think the '06 lamps have an advantage over a modded '05 on, (aside from the bi-xenon HID) is that the shape of the enclosure around the projector is a bit longer and angled downward so you don't get any kind of glare from the light bouncing off the bottom of the low beam bezel. Some people have had issues if the projector isn't far enough forward, which can look like ***, as the light bounces off the inside of the bezel when you try to aim it properly.

I've thought about doing a conversion of the clearance strip to a functioning turn signal, so that its off until the turn signal kicks in, but I'm probably removing the lamps in a couple months for something else, so its not worth it now.

In terms of cost, its all relative. Nobody blinks if you drop 5k on a full body kit; I think its a waste of money to spend that kind of cash on fiberglass. So I'd rather spend the money on a custom lighting setup. Like we really need one more black coupe with the Kenstyle kit.

AHAHHAA nicely said ^_^V i like that one..........but still everyone would turn heads for a bodykit but true car enthusists that like the g35 would know the headlights are insane...........i mainly like the led for the clearned strip and clear corners.......those are so nice but so expensive

Oh I know, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying people don't notice the effect of a body kit because they definitely grab your attention and look great. I'm saying that around enthusiasts, the money you'd spend on a body kit, when you drop that much on something like lighting, people tend to look at you like you have two heads.

When I'm done with my car, I probably could've done the had the Top Secret widebody kit with hood, painted and installed with cash leftover for what I'm spending on lighting. And you're right, in the daytime, my lights are very subtle and the car does not look far from stock. I love the lines of the car as it is, and really wanted to give it a few finishing touches rather than change what I had, not to mention I'm not a big fan of glass lower body trim. Add in things like the dual-function overhead lamp which nobody ever notices unless they've sat in the car and used the map light. So a lot of it is lost on most people. But that said, at night, my car is radically different than just about any other one on the road. I've had people swing around at lights and gas stations just to get a second look. I think I probably spend more time driving my car at night than during the day, so its a pretty decent tradeoff!

No pics on taillights, they've just gone for sale in the last week. I think I'm #2 to get a set.

$2350 includes the cost of a brand new set of taillights from Infiniti. Unlike the headlights, you don't send in your cores to be modified. Thats less expensive than the headlights and I think the work is a bit more intensive. I spent about $2500 on the headlamps between new '05 assemblies and the modification. I still have my original headlamps, but I keep those as spares in case there is every an accident or failure with my modified ones, so I'm not left without headlights. I'm going to do the same with the tails as well.

They won't retrofit projectors. By NHTSA guidelines, they're illegal and run a huge liability for clearcorners.com as a business if they were provided as a product. Because the '06 lamps are factory projectors, there is no liability in doing conversions like painting the shroud or LED auxilliary lighting, but you can't modify the HID lighting source and keep it legal.
