another praise post for this sticky.

i wanted to replace the clear clearance strip bulp yesterday and thought i would just wing it, thankfully i wised up and used this sticky and it made things pretty easy...still a lot of work to change out $3 bulbs.

EXCELLENT POST! thank you for your time & effort in this
gets me thinking how to start working~

one noobish question though...those 3 screws in the fender well, how do you remove them such that they wont break? and if they break, where do I find a replacement? I broke like two of them when i tried to replace my clearance light ><

Thumbs up

Just wanted to say thanks for the DIY. Used it tonight to wire my daytime running lights for my federal inspection.

Passed with flying colors!

You are referring to the plastic rivets? I keep a big box of universal ones on hand, you can pick them up from O'Riley Auto Parts

Pardon me for not reading through 6 pages of this thread, but how long and at one temperature should the lights be in the oven? Also, how do you re-seal the casings?

This is the worst part of the whole thing. They don't give you hardly any extra lead on the wire and the clip is on the bottom! I had a friend helping me and I was holding the lamp assembly from the top and he was in the wheel well. He used a pick to unclip the harness from the headlight.......he was using the pick and I was pulling on the harness and eventually we got it. Definitely a pain! The other thing I found out was there is not enough lead wire to plug the harness into the new 06 lamp assembly I was putting in my 04 Coupe. What we did was to slide the plug on the headlamp assembly off the post that it is sitting on so we would have enough wire length to plug them together. Hope that helps you out.

Yes. He had to use the pick underneath the harness. The clip is small and all the plastic being black doesn't help either. You definitely need to use a flashlight and it will still be some feeling around that you need to do.
