It's true, powdercoat is a higher quality way to go... it's also FIVE times more expensive than what I did!

Thanks for the compliments guys, I do appreciate them

I used 400 on the general areas of the rim and 120 (might have been 180 I can't remember) on the curb rash. You're supposed to sand down some then use bondo but, I didn't care that much. I WILL say to be careful when sanding because any area that you sand down to bare metal is much harder to cover with primer and paint! I think I actually might suggest using 600 or even 800 to do the regular sanding, so as it's not so easy to eat through all the paint.

powdercoat makes them look glossy black, has a durable finish and looks tons better and more factory-ish. spray paint looks cheap 9 out of 10 times, just like the picture you posted.

You can not like it if you want dude, I don't really care. I know powdercoating is better, but as I already stated, it would have cost me 5 times more than if I painted them myself. This was a great alternative for me, as I will get aftermarket rims down the road, but this will make me happy until then.

I think it turned out great. And usually I HATE TA stripes,
but with your setup I think the red stripe looks awesome.
Either way, nice looking G...

Mine doesn't have the TA stripe on them, and I don't actually intend to put it there.... I just wanted to see what it would look like. Thanks though

Might have to do this in gloss black this weekend. Just picked up a set up 350z wheels for dirt cheap. Thanks for posting.

I don't get what you're saying? Are you trying to insult his grammar? or...are you just an idiot? And the wheels look great how can you say they look cheap? 9/10 people probably wouldn't even know they were painted.
