It's true, powdercoat is a higher quality way to go... it's also FIVE times more expensive than what I did!
Thanks for the compliments guys, I do appreciate them
I used 400 on the general areas of the rim and 120 (might have been 180 I can't remember) on the curb rash. You're supposed to sand down some then use bondo but, I didn't care that much. I WILL say to be careful when sanding because any area that you sand down to bare metal is much harder to cover with primer and paint! I think I actually might suggest using 600 or even 800 to do the regular sanding, so as it's not so easy to eat through all the paint.

for some reason the first thing I thought of was when I saw the pic of your car on jack stands was that Bridgestone advertisement, "Its Bridgestone or nothing" lol
Post up the pics how they look on the ride!

I'm going to be driving about 1000 miles round trip between now and Sunday, hopefully I don't get home and my wheels are destroyed haha we'll see.

You can not like it if you want dude, I don't really care. I know powdercoating is better, but as I already stated, it would have cost me 5 times more than if I painted them myself. This was a great alternative for me, as I will get aftermarket rims down the road, but this will make me happy until then.

powdercoat makes them look glossy black, has a durable finish and looks tons better and more factory-ish. spray paint looks cheap 9 out of 10 times, just like the picture you posted.
