Painted Brake Calipers 08X Sport Sedan
HI Guys...I am relatively new to this forum but it is now my favorite website and I love reading and learning new ways to make my car more personalized based on what some of the other members have done.
Over the past couple months i have really started noticing my stock brake calipers corroding and starting to rust. The more i looked at my brakes the more it annoyed me so i decided to clean, sand, and paint my stock brake calipers Black....since they are not the most attractive brake calipers to begin with i didnt think red or any flashy color would look good. I figured since they are not nice breaks like stoptech or brembo i should go black so they dont stick out like a sore thumb.
i also bought some of the infiniti Brake Caliper Decals to add a nice touch after i cleaned and painted them
if anyone else has done this in a different color please add pics of how yours came out
Please let me know what you think...good or bad
either way they are def looking better than before all rusty and ugly

I used the Duplicolor Brake Caliper paint because it was all i could find in the stores at the time....but i have heard from many others when i was researching that the G2 Brake Caliper paint is by far the best
i think as long as you clean them well...which took a long time for me...the paint will stay on and not chip...however if you dont clean them well it may chip after a year or so

I always paint mine black.
FWIW, I tried duplicolor this time and it didn't stick worth schit.
G2 is 100x better.
Bonds much better, higher gloss, and smoother.
...also if you want a little cleaner job, grind off the casting flashes.
