New member W/ P1757 issue

Hello everyone!!! New guy here who fell in love with the infiniti cars. I always got toyota or Hondas but this is my first g35x and I'm already sold to own these cars.

Anywho! This is my story. I have a 2006 G35X 4 door sedan. I had the car for about a year and the first major issue i got was a head gasket issue which car started overheating but I kinda fixed that issue with the BARS head gasket product. Its had it for like 5 months and still holding. So the main issue is the p1757 problem. I saw couple of posts here on how to fix the problem. I actually took the valve body out and the tcm module also. I fixed the break in the tcm and bought all new solenoids. I put everything back together and it was running beautifully for a month and slowly the 'limp mode' issue came back. Now I'm on full limp mode and I still drive it to work which is like a 15 min ride so I assume it won't damage the car much. Would anyone know what should I do/try to fix this issue. I don't know if I should swap the whole valve body or whole tranny or take it apart again to find a break in the TCM or just save my $$ to get another infiniti. Thats why I brought up the head gasket problem cuz I have to take that issue into account also if I start pouring $$ to fix the tranny problem. Any help/opinions would be great!

I had the same code and fixed the broken tab in my TCM. I drove the car with the transmission slipping for a day or two after it happened. My car ran fine for about a week but then started slipping again. I guess the damage to the transmission was already done. I eventually took it in and got my tranny rebuilt.

Yeah its hard to decide on what to do. I don't know if I continue driving the car, will I damage the tranny or any other parts.

Also sorry if I posted this thread in the wrong section and if a admin can move it to the proper section. Thanks.

Yeah it almost seems like the transmission internals get damaged very quickly once the valve body stops working and u keep on driving.

Is the car showing any transmission codes?

Only code I get is the p1757 code for 'front brake solenoid'. Only if I got real unlucky and the tcm has another break, after I put it back together. Swapping the whole valve body with a new one is easy enough for me to do. Swapping the whole tranny would mean i need to take it to a mechanic.

Sounds like your fix didnt work.

On mine, the code disappeared after I fixed the broken contact. So reset the code and see if it comes back. If it does, then you either didnt repair it correctly or it broke again.

Well the code did go away after I fixed it. It came back when the "limp mode' issue slowly started coming back. So not sure if tcm pin broke again or did the solenoid stopped working. If the whole TCM or valve body didn't work, would those get their own different issue codes???

**UPDATE**
So I end up taking the TCM apart again because I found a TCM on Amazon which said it was a "Plug n Play" board so I thought that was perfect. I put it in and put everything back together, just to find out the car didn't move at all . I assumed it wasn't plug n play and needed to be programmed which I didn't want to do since cheapest around me was $250. I ended up opening up the old board and surely enough the pin that I fixed before broke again. So I re-soldered it again, took the tcm out again to take out the new board & put everything back together with the old board. Ran like a champ for like a month than I let my cousin who is a speed freak drive it. Abused the gas peddle and kept rev'n the car and next day i have the issue again 😭😭. So gonna try to do the process again for the 4th time.

Now I was trying to figure out if I can get a TCM from a junk yard somewhere, do I have to program that board also or is it only new boards that needs to be programmed? Quick reply would be appreciated!!
