This is my first post on this forum. If any of you frequent my350z.com, you may recognize me from there. I've met a few of you guys from the Capitol Area G35 Club. I just wanted to let you know of an "End of Summer" G35/350Z meet going on October 16th at 12:00 PM at the Hooters in Rockville, MD. There is a thread in the mid-Atlantic regional forum on my350z.com, drop a post if you can make it out (I'd provide a link, but that forum is having issues today). This should be a pretty well attended meet, so come on out and join in the fun. Quite a few of the guys who have had serious work done by Evolution will be there, I hope some of you all can come too!

Looking forward to the meet. Thanks for your organizational efforts. One question though - in light of the recent tragic incidents in Montogmery County (incl. Rockville Pike), and the police's announcement of heightened enforcement efforts, is Rockville still a good venue? It sounds like the meet only contemplates gathering at the parking lot and potentially grabbing a bite, but I just want to make sure everyone is ready for potential scrutiny. See you on the 16th.

Over the last 3 Saturday nights, there were 4(?) different accidents in Montgomery County that claimed the lives of 7 teenagers, and they are being attributed to drag racing and other forms of aggressive driving. Montgomery County Police have apparently commissioned a special task force to crack down on aggressive driving, and there were over a 100 citations issued last Sat night.

All I ask is if we're driving as well, please let us know in advance approximately how long the drive is so that I can schedule out the day (hint hint, Stanton.....)

Hey guys,
Yeah, I've seen the news regarding the heightened police activity due to teenagers out driving like idiots. Quite honestly, since we've been given permission to use the parking facilities at Hooters, we don't want *anyone* driving like a jerk at this meet. All it does is serve to prove the "All sports car drivers are a-holes" people right, and we don't want that. It also attracts police that otherwise might not ever notice us.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with gathering socially like we're doing, and if we do end up planning a cruise, we needn't break the law to do it (at least not in the urban areas, we can save that for the open roads! )

I talked at some length about this location with Jeff at Evolution Autosports, and one of the reasons we chose this site is because the last several big Z/G meets have been in NoVA, so we thought this time we'd make all the NoVA guys hump it up to MD instead of always asking the MDers to come to VA. Make sense? I think we'll be just fine since we're not only on private property, but we have the consent of the establishment we're meeting at to use their parking area.

At the risk of sounding harsh, if you had plans of showing up and doing stupid stuff like donuts or burn-outs in the parking lot, please feel free not to come. It would be nice to be welcome back at this establishment again in the future.

Hey Guys,
Yeah about those police. The only time i noticed them pulling people over for acting stupid is during the nights of Thursday-Saturday when people usually meet with their cars at the Starbucks across the street. When driving on a 1 mile strech on Montrose road, I saw 5 people pulled over. 4 bikers and 1 Mustang GT.

So, as long as you don't drive like idiots they're usually pretty cool.

Is the meet only open to VA/MD/DC drivers? I'm from PA and may be down in the area that weekend. Just checking if this is a "local members only" meet or not?

looks like a good time.. Can't wait to to go to my first G/Z meet ever.. I'm guessing it'll be a lot different than the old integra/civic meets I used to go to (haha..)
