So now he said that if you are caught going 10 mph over the speed limit he's going to automatically suspend your license for 10 days. If you're caught doing 20 mph over, automatic 30 days suspension. CHPs are now watching for speeders on HWY 4 in the Bay Point/Pittsburg area as well. Be very careful out there everyone.
I had an officer pull alongside me and motion to slow down the other day.
My heart was going after that one.

I wish I have that kind of luck. Well actually, about a year or so ago I was coming out of the Caldecott Tunnel and a sheriff pulled me over. He asked me why I was driving so fast and I told him that there was a car tailgating me and I was trying to get out of his way. Luckily he told me to slow down and next time to move over. I was so happy.....

I've got a better idea. Instead of investing in radar detectors, laser detectors, jammers, radar absorbent coatings, taking your car to Lockhead skunkworks, etc., how about just slowing down. What a novel idea. It's cheaper. And you might just save money on gas and save a few lives.

Remember, the MAXIMUM speed limit in California is 65 MPH (22349(a) VC). Unless it's posted higher, such as I-5 at 70 MPH (22356(b) VC). The officer only has to prove 66 or greater to get a guilty charge.

If it pouring rain, we can establish a speed limit at whatever we think is safe. 65 no longer is the speed limit, yet it is still the MAXIMUM speed limit. If it's wet, raining and reduced visibility, maybe i've determined a safe speed limit of 40 MPH. If I pace someone at 55, I can still write a speeding ticket for 22350 VC.

But then again, my fellow coworkers need something to do. Even if I get all my G35 counterparts to slow down, there will still be plenty of other speeders. Let your conscience be your guide. Drive safely.

A white camaro pulled next to me on w80. I was thinking, "I'm not going to race you." Then he inches up and I see that it was a chp car. Wanna talk about heart racing?

Damn that car. It's all white with the most streamline light bar on the top that is hard to see from far away even in broad daylight.

Not sure if CHP has a few or not, I'm sure they do, but I see it in the Antioch/Oakley area all the time.

Every CHP office in the bay area got a CamAro. We had two in my office for a while. They were supposed to be used for commercial enforcement. The commercial officers never drove them. It's a little difficult to carry a libraries worth of big rig publications and Title 13 regulations, and portable scales in the 'trunk' of a CamAro. They are still out there being used. Some offices even have all white Crown Vics.

See, that's why I haven't had a speeding ticket (or any other ticket) in years, because I drive the speed limit all the time. Sounds corny but it's the best way not to get busted.

That camaro and the chp trucks with the camper shell will surprise you every time.
