Centering? If you mean adjusting to whatever you want, then yes.
Suspension geometry is setup such that the lower you go without putting camber back in spec, the more negative (top of tire tilts inward to center of car) the camber becomes. Thus people who don't return will notice the insides of their tires wearing out quite quickly. Ideally you want to return to OEM spec to prevent this.
For others running retardedly sized wheels and tires for that hellafrush/illest/whatever look, they use it to add more negative camber so they can fit wheels that otherwise would never do so when lowered.
The SPL arms which arm IMO the best on the market for serious tracking applications are awesome because that allow you to adjust caster too.
