UK Drivers?
Hi All,
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself, my name is Andy aka FiftyPence and I live in Guernsey, Channel Islands, UK.
I currently own a Diamond Black Pearl 2003 Volkswagen Golf R32 as detailed in the following pictures.
I am 25 years old and currently work as a Senior Funds Technician for an international banking corporation however I may shortly be transferring departments to become a Fund Accountant.
After 4 years of ownership I have decided to sell my R32 and purchase the first Nissan Skyline 350GT/Infiniti G35 in Guernsey. I will be looking to purchase a black G35 Coupe either in OEM finish to which I will fit the obligatory 19-20" rims or try and find a pre-tuned model.
I can assure you I have extensive knowledge of forum etiquette and you should not find any stupid questions/posts from me as you might have come to expect from most noobs.
Here are some pictures of my R32:

Nice car mate. You'll love the attention you'll get when you drive the 350GT around. People will stop and talk to you about it nearly everywhere you go.
Beware of the 350GT's with satnav. If it hasn't already been converted from *** to English, you'll be looking at a bill of between £900 & £2500 to convert it.

Thanks for the heads-up, the owner of the local *** car import company is a good friend of mine and they are a great company to deal with. They will sort everything out so if I get a model with Satnav they will take care of it for UK use
There were some great examples which came up for auction today but they were auto. Im after a manual and all the gadgets, one will turn up eventually. Im in no rush.

i dont suppose any of you guys have managed to change the sat nav language to english yet have you ? looking at the infiniti manual it is possible but it doesnt explain what to press to get there, it will make everything much easier if i can read it lol, also i dont suppose anyone here in the uk has a satnav dvd they could copy for me to see if that helps at all (any country dvd will do) id be happy to send some beer tokens for your help.
Hi Daz,welcome mate,I have the Sat bird DVD disc but when you use it I always end up in the sea!!! Looks like Southend on Sea !!!! as far as I know the disc is no good outside Japan,go to the Japenese web site for Nissan 350 gt sat nav and it clearly states that it is for use in Japan only.
But there must be some one out there that can convert this.
I have just come back from Holland through Belguim and France with Sat nav,its like a walk in the park, but its Tom Tom,its good ?? but like you want to use my original sat nav !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The latest 910 tom toms are on e bay at around 200 quid, they give you every thing, why are we being asked to spend up to 2 grand to get ours converted ?????????

you could do this:

They might know how
Finally taken delivery of my Skyline, every bit as good as I remember. Anyone fitted a band expander themselves? How easy is it to take the radio console apart?
I did take the Nismo spoiler off as it was not to my taste looking to sell this... any offers? It has a little bit of damage on one side bu would be easily repaired when painting. Colour is silver code KYO. It is the same one halfway down this page http://g35coupe.blogspot.com/ it is an authentic Nismo spoiler. Located in Glasgow so pick up would be ideal if interested.

Hi there Airsoft Andy
What's the latest on the car then, was it repaired or a right off after your accident?
The kenstyle is a nice choice, I am seriously thinking about it, along with greddy sides and front. It seems only to be available from the USA/Canada, I don't think this is available as a Japanese aftermarket bodykit from what I can see.
It depends whether you want an authentic one or a replica?? There are a few places.

Hi mate. Yep, they wrote it off!!!! My wifes cousin is going to repair it. He's been repairing salvaged cars for the last 10 years and has full workshop facilities. It only needs a rad, front bumper, bonnet, cross member & associated front end plastic bits. I've already bought a carbon fibre bonnet & thought a Kenstyle kit would suit it best.
Any suggestions where I could buy it and have them send it to blighty mate.

can you please let me know where i can obtain an owners manual in english.

Hi GLC. As far as I know, you can't get an English Skyline 350GT manual. However, the Infiniti G35 manual should help. Just remember they're left hand drive though.
Service manuals can be downloaded here http://forums.freshalloy.com/showthread.php?t=156293
As for the handbook goes, I picked one up whilst on holiday in Florida together with a SATNAV handbook (not that it was any help...their system is different from the *** import)
How do you like the car so far?
Andy
