The battery in the keyfob must be ok, because it still operates the central locking so I assume it's the same battery.

Did anyone get to Boxhill this weekend? - I only stayed a short while so may have missed someone.

I turned up just before 2, due to having to work until 1.

Was a good turn out. I was told someone turned up for a short while with a blue one like mine, I would have liked to have seen that.

Well done OptiX, nice looking car.

DOH! user error

Well, I've discovered my remote boot release works after all.
The problem was that before it works I need to use both the TOAD remote and the Nissan keyfob to disable the immobiliser and unlock the doors first. It then opens the boot lid from the Keyfob ok.

Does anyone have any idea how many UK owners there are now ?

glad you got it sorted.
according to a friend of mine, that has access to the PNC. 5 weeks ago, when i asked the same question, there was 47 of them registered in the UK
when you consider that there are 16 bugatti veryons also, thats not bad

wait untill mid 2008 (when the offical imports come in) there will be hundreds.
still, we were there first.

47 That's pretty interesting.

I assume you are reffering to Infiniti's launch into the UK in 2008. I would expect that they will only launch the new G35 and I would not think that Infiniti would sell our current model. Nissan will not sell the Skyline if Infiniti are on our shores flogging G35s. I've also heard consistently (whether that means anything) that the new GTR will not be Skyline badged. So I would still bet that our Skylines will remain unique here.

the info i have is that infinity will launch a range here in 2008 of "upper" end vech's
and the GT-R will be badged as that (GT-R) .. (sold by infinity)
also that nissan will sell untill 2010 the facelifted G35 (our cars) badged as the skyline 350gt, in there nissan stealerships. with the rev up engine only.

Anyone here done a service yet?

I have 4.5K miles on the clock and wondering when I should service. Did you take yours to Nissan?

I have posted a question about my SLIP light comming on unexpectidly when just overtaking. It's pretty un-nerving when that happens I'm thinking of taking her in to Nissan for checking. I assume they can plug her into their computer for diagnostics?? Anyone else had this kind of problem? Maybe it's normal, just unusual in dry conditions and I have pushed her harder before without the light comming on.

Cheers guys

Before I bought I contacted 2 local Nissan dealers to confirm that they could and would service the 350GT for me. They both said yes no problem, so I assume they can handle them OK. I've heard that the 350GT shares the mechanical platform of the 350Z so I'd assume that they can handle these things OK.

Mind you to "assume" anything is to make an "a ss" out of "u" and "me"

"basic" servicing is the same as the 350Z (oil filters/plugs etc) but diagnostic's etc is totally different, i have had murders trying to get nissan to read and re-flash my ECU and my PCM boards following some dramas with wiring.
the problems seem to come from not lack of knowledge, but lack of the information on screen, telling the mechanics whats what.
even back and forwards from japan, seened to loose something in translation.
abbey motorsport seem to know the most about these.
i have a manual that explains everything about these cars, from modifications to full O/E parts, but its in japaneese................superb book, but as good as running out of toilet paper.
still, it will get better, with the likes of you and me taking our cars there....supply and demand, and all that.
good luck
david.

David,

Is the manual you have an electronic copy ?
If so I'd appreciate a copy and I'd attempt to get some of it translated.
