sorry mate, its a large A4 manual (188 pages) with every option covered including veilside/top sceret cars etc, also i did not know they do a 4x4 version? did you??
but its only 2.5 ltr. (same G35 body)
it also lists the GT-R light and front end conversion, to change our cars to the 2008 GT-R.....hummm, note to self...start saving up

Welcome

Have you been back at all?

Was over there last year for a holiday. Loved it. That's where I saw my first G and thought - I want one

abbey motorsport seem to know the most about these.
i have a manual that explains everything about these cars, from modifications to full O/E parts, but its in japaneese................superb book, but as good as running out of toilet paper.
still, it will get better, with the likes of you and me taking our cars there....supply and demand, and all that.
good luck

David

Would you take your car to Nissan in my situation or where else?

Thanks

tough call.

there are a few considerations: firstly its always good to have main dealer stamps in your book, but most imported cars dont have any traceable service history (or its in japaneese)
secondly, as nissan dont have all the info and peramiters for our cars, it rearly is 6 of one and half a dozen of another.
thirdly, as long as you have some sort of history, from now on, regarding oil changes etc, i dont think you could go wrong.
to my mind a stamp from one guy..is as good as another.

your call
good luck

Delimiter question

Anyone know much about delimiting the Skyline 350GT. i.e. removing the JDM restriction.

What are the implications of fitting a delimiter to remove the 112mph limit ?

If delimited what becomes the top speed ? (theoretical of course )

I've notice that at an indicated 90mph the engine is doing about 3000rpm,
I know the the red line is around 7000rpm but I remember my Subaru import, which was derestricted, maxing out at around 6500rmp in top gear even though the red line was 7800rmp. Anyone on here have the knowledge to comment ?

Cheers
Garrie

I agree with that. But I really meant in the event of an issue, is it worth taking to Nissan. You had some problems with them you mentioned, but I think you were trying to do some serious stuff with ECU etc.

I have an issue with SLIP light comming on sometime for no reason. Booked to take into Nissan next week, but expecting they will not have a clue, I might be wrong ??

stu, i have taken my car to no less than 3 nissan main dealers...and they havnt got a clue....at the moment my car is in nissan guildford (woodbridge meddows) and all they were ment to do was re-flash the ecu to allow it to talk to the new pcm board (nissan O/E part) and its been there 4 days ????
its nothing like a 350Z that bit must be made clear from the offset, same engine and a few similar running gear bits, but thats where it stops.
2008...will be no problems, once they get the equptment/software etc, but at the moment , you have as much idea as they do.
so a competent indipendant guy would be just as good, if not better in my book, because hes not trying to copy 350Z info.

also de limiter is a must (are you kidding????)
i have the 155mph rev limiter also removed, and with mods she is pulling a indicated 172 mph (sat nav recorded speed)

you know it makes sence.

Where have you been going for servicing then? Is there a Service Light on our cars? I thought there was reading info on this forum (my previous car had this and needed to be reset each time).

What's this new PCM board for David? What is re-flashing the ECU exactly?

172mph Sat Nav, so what is that showing on the speedo?

Are there any dangers with the delimiter considering it's fooling the ECU into thinking it's doing no more than 112.

How does the ECU cope with managing the higher speeds e.g. fuel mixtures etc ?
Is it not risky just to fool the ECU?

So, does the JDM car aso have the 155mph rev limiter too?
