Exclamation got my mrev and my heart is going nuts- a little long

Well, I am glad to announce that I have installed my MREV+ with no warning lights or leaks and what a great product. But first I would like to thank tony at motordyne for developing such a useful mod and even to mariella for being so kind on the phone while I was getting my credit card info correct.

Now on to my actual thoughts. Before the G is was in a 89 supra turbo. With a few mods it kicked like crazy, so I was a little reserved when I got the g, but my inital impressions were good and i love the way the exhaust sounds. As with everyone I wanted more power...I even considered going APS TT, but then i heard about the MREV and waited it out. Now, after installing it all I can say is "WOW", she just screams at me now. We all know what it does and where the power gains are and this is no replacement for turbos but it is definitely a difference. And for the money...i couldn't beat it. 2.5 hrs install and a $74 torque wrench vs several weeks of downtime and a couple grand.

However, she does not want to breaking loose like I've heard other people talk about, but I figure I have to give the car sometime to relearn everything. In the next couple of weeks I will be adding crawford cats and alpha headers. I can't wait to see how well they work with the MREV. But that is my experience so far. Thanks Motordyne and everyone on this forum. All the reviews and opinions help out so much.

Excellent! . . . Good to read that you had a good install and a very positive first MREV experience. Congrats!

andy2434- did you reset your ECU at all after the MREV install? As i said earlier I figured the car would relearn everything, but I was wondering if a reset would be effective. thanks.

I followed Tony's instructions to a "T." I disconnected the negative battery terminal overnight. If so desired, you may perform a simple ECU reset via the pedal method. However, after a handful of miles the ECU should adapt. Enjoy!

I don't have the time or patience to read 14 pages on this topic so I'll cut
to the chase.

Has anyone with this new MREV kit dynoed their car?
Hopefully they dynoed BEFORE the MREV kit as well so
we can actually see the results of this modification.

Please post results and which dyno?
If you did not have a baseline dyno BEFORE installing this
MREV kit, can you at least post what most are getting
on that SAME dyno?

Thanks

There are at least 10 dynos that have been posted before and after of this mod. That is why this mod is so HOT. It has been proven to gain 15 & 15 in the midrange power of the car.

Tony (Hydrozine) and a few others have dynos up on there webpages. Also do a search for MREV Dynos and you should be able to find them all.

Thank you.
That's a pretty decent gain for the mod.

Mrev+ Dynos

Here's a few of the MREV+ dynos. There are many more posted around this board and others.

ENJOY!

That in a large part is due to the removal of the Power Duct.

I assume those are all dynos of stock versus MREV with 5/16" spacer? Do you have any comparisons of MREV with 5/16" spacer versus just 5/16" spacer on '05+ cars? I'm curious what the high-end / mid-range torque trade-off is with the '03-'04 lower collector.

If you add just the 5/16 spacer on a MREV car it has shown loss of power.

The above is before and after dynos of the MREV package.

The 03-04 collector gains the low end TQ back. But it takes away from the high end.

Now the 5/16 spacer gives some more of that high end back. So in all the car gains.

Almost. They are stock Vs MREV+.

MREV+ is a modified lower collector with a 5/16" spacer. MREV and MREV+ only work on the "REVUP" engine.

The machining process to the lower colletor reduces or eliminates the loss of power typically seen above 6200 RPM. The machining process doesn't change the peak HP much, but it does add significant area under the curve.

Okay, it's still not clear. Let me see if I have this straight.

If you take a stock REVUP '05+ motor and just install the 5/16" spacer, there are no gains, and perhaps even some losses. Is this correct? Did they change the internal geometry in the '05+ collector such that spacing is no longer necessary?

Now if you add the '03-'04 lower collector (or machined collector) it makes a good amount of midrange torque with no loss in top end.

What if you add JUST the '03-'04 lower collector, but no spacer. Is there a big loss in top end?
