Regarding wheelspin on our cars, it has more to do with road surface and temperature than power. I have an 05AT with limited slip diff and depending on road surface and temp, it will either spin easily or not at all. For example, cold smooth weathered asphalt will light them up easily...cross-grooved concrete will not spin at all. I have a short clip of a standing start on smooth asphalt in 1st gear if anyone cares to see it.

one big difference in wheel spin, which I never see stated, is tire size. 17's vs 18's vs 19's should give lesser or greater wheel spin

Well, it looks like 2006 holds a few more Motordyne mods for our G's. If the plenum spacers, MREV, etc, are of any indication . . . It appears that Tony is going to definitely going to increase the driveability of our cars even more.

I can't wait to see and install the next set of goodies. For all of us current and soon to be Motordyne fans . . . 2006 should prove to be a productive year.

I am hoping Tony is busy working on new mods for the 280 hp version of the VQ

Yet another happy MREV customer

Hey all,

You are probably sick of seeing these threads but I figured I would put up my experience with the magic known as MREV.

I have an '05 6MT G35C (bone stock until now) that I purchased in October of last year. I was impressed by the power the car had (coming from a '95 Honda Prelude VTEC) so I was happy. Then I became a member of this wonderful forum and learned what I missing.

From researching the MREV mod I learned that it is simply your standard 5/16" Isothermal plenum spacer but it adds in a lower plenum from an earlier model year G35 or 350Z. Knowing this I decided to save myself a few bucks and sourced a used lower plenum from an '03 350Z that someone on my350z.com was getting rid of. The only drawback to this route is that you do not have the option of getting the Plus upgrade. Being mechanically inclined I opted to perform the modifications needed to get the plus myself. I also took the time to clean up the plenum of any sharp edges and roughness to better smooth the airflow. I then ordered the 5/16" Isothermal spacer from Partshippers.com and I had the full MREV package.

The install was very straightforward. I was a little concerned when I read a thread about someone elses install and they noted that not all the brackets you must remove are outlined in the instructions. This turned out to be a non-issue as they are very obvious and easy to remove. One thing to note to those that do this mod, unless you are getting the copper upgrade it is wise to NOT unplug your throttle body. Doing so may cause a SES light. Overall all the install took roughly an hour and a half and that is simply because I am extremely meticulus.

Once I got everything buttoned up and triplechecked my work I fired her up. The first thing I noticed was the throatier sound the engine had. On the test drive it was raining a bit (I am in Seattle and we are now selling lumber by the cubit ) so I couldn't really get on her too much. The mian thing I noticed was the torque. I had to be very careful with my right foot or I would end up getting nowhere fast! I also noted that I am able to bark third and a moderately aggressive upshift (couldn't do that before).

Overall the car feels like it breaths a lot free'er and easier now. I have found myself asking the question that many have asked before, "Why the H*ll didn't Nissan do this in the first place?!". I am very pleased with my purchase and would very much recommend it to anyone with the REVUP engine.

Great write up. Everyone has a different way of sharing their MREV experience(s), which are always welcome.

Seattle, eh? I was up there during Thanksgiving visiting my younger sister. It rained alot! It will dry out soon for you, I trust . . . And then you'll be able to have some fun. Enjoy!

Hahaha!

Thats funny. I asked that of myself the first time I saw the dyno results. Why? I asked...

Unless you could rev the engine to 8K-9K RPM or higher, there is too much of a compromise with the short stock runners.

Congrats on the good results!!!

I had the same expression when I got mine, needless to say after a month of driving it I want more !!! hurry up Tony with the next Mod !! well I guess it doesn't matter anymore because I already got an approval from the wife to go FI. I'm just waiting for the new kit from TN for the revup motor and I'm set. MREV is still worth every penny and I can still use it on FI.

MREV Today !

MREV on my '06 Coupe today. We've all heard the accolades for this mod. so I won't bore you all with more. I'm very satified.
Wit 1500 Miles I've got tint done, clearbra, "clears" with Danno's overlay's, changed out the fogs to some 4400K's, city light's to amber, interiors to LED's wih blue courtesy's, LED in lic. plate, debadged her and dumped the "Blose's in front for Infinity Kappa's and threw in an Amsoil Nanofilter when installing the MREV today ......... Sheez, seems like only a month or two ago I was thinking ,"just get me the damn car , who needs to mod such a cool vehicle?" Hey, it WAS a month or two ago I said that .. LOL.
BTW, Absolutely 0 issues w/ the little Black Beauty ...... no axle noises, shifting problems, sore backs, or "funny noises" (other than the "wind noise"like sound that comes then goes on cold morning's). Yep, my "G" has been perfect so far and a the advanced age o 61 I find myself going out to the garage on a regular basis and just staring at her. Damn, the lines on these cars are just beautiful....... certainly in my estimation destined to be a classic design. Took this old timer a long while to come to grips with the "no V8 thingy" but I guess it's part of GROWING UP Ha,Ha,Ha.
PS: I redlined the little 6 banger on th way home from the dealer ...... several times.

Unhappy Sad

I was going to get this mod, untill this weekend. I ran a black 05' sedan with the mod and I pulled him from 80 to 120. So I was not impressed.
