Question.. if i double side tape my front plate on to the car.. (mesh), I have a TS bumper.. will it fly?

This way I can just swap mesh if i ever do get a ticket again.. also is there a greater fine for claiming that you lost the front plate AFTER you've already recieved the ticket? (i really cant find mine)

it will "fly" with some cops, but not all.

my friend tried it. the cop walked up and ripped it off his front bumper and got even more pissed...then gave him a ticket for window tint.

don't give them more reason to be pissed off dude.

 

As long as the plate is attached to the front of the car and visable you shouldnt have any problems. I got the ticket written off at a CHP office and they took a 2sec. glimpse of the plate and wrote it off. So i figured they dont care if its super glued to the bumper as long as its there. And yes i leave my plate on now !!!

 

i just got to the station and i slapped the front plate on and the officer walked out and boom done. no worries eric, just prep it before u get there, like put doubled sided tape on the thinger and let it sit in ur car and when u get there slap that b!tch on! =)

try the stillen license plate bracket that connects to the tow hook. easy fix and removable easily.

 

i dont think it works with the ts bumper

 

Just make a braket and put it on. It makes for less of a headache later on down the road with police that are **** about front plates.

 

ive seen people use zip ties to hold there front plates to the mesh and cut the pix tie off at shows, but i havent had my front plate on in over 6 years

the 60 bucks for the stillen plate braket is well worth it, if your going to worry abt it.. im leaving mine off until i get told to put it back on and then i will say idk where my plate is, i just got my car out of the shop, ill have to call them tomorrow officer, works like a charm

i pulled my plate out of my closet last month, to make sure i still had it and im throwing it in my car for my trip next weekend =0) just in case, because im going out of state

they were issued, one in the front and the other in the rear.

(b) When only one license plate is issued for use upon a vehicle,
it shall be attached to the rear thereof, unless the license plate is
issued for use upon a truck tractor, in which case the license plate
shall be displayed in accordance with Section 4850.5.

The CA driver's handbook states nothing about HOW the plate should be attached. The guy who got his ripped off the front of the car by the issuing officer had the option of taking the case to court and possibly suing the city for blatant vandalism to the vehicle, as the plate was clearly attached and visible.

I've seen all sorts of vehicles where one of the plates, the rear usually, is attached to the inside of the back window with duct tape, or on the outside of the trunk with zip-ties. I've even seen front plates mounted upside-down!

To answer your question - YES. It will fly.

On my previous car, I attached my front plate with black velcro and put it on whenever I left CA on road trips. When I was cited for the front plate, CHP even said it was OK, as long as the plate is on and visible.

Double-sided tape should work as well, but be careful of what tape you use - some will take your paint off along with it, when removed.

 

It might work, I went one time and they grabbed the plate and shook it around to make sure it was secure. Another time I went and the lady just looked out the door and saw that the plate was there and that was that. Just depends on the cop I guess...

I finally got tired of the tickets and got the Stillen tow hook plate - no more hassles.

 

Funny thing they harass us for our tint and Front plate yet that friggin blond Paris and family drove off to include the driver wearing no seat belts. I was like WTF and their windows were down and cops were walking along side the SUV......

 

Oh TRUST me the plate will NOT come off with 3 strips of doublesided tape

actually my rear bumper plate is also held on by double sided tape lol.. ._.

I was thinking about getting some L Brackets from Homedepot and bolting to to the top of the duct.. (kinda like how the authentic TS has the plate setup)
