But look at it this way. I will be coming to the track after my class that friday morning with one of my friends. ill bring my camera stuff so we can get multiple angles.

Rever:
It is an all day thing, and it will grab $300 from your pocket for sign up and transponder, so it is not a minor thing. You will probably get close to two hours of on track running as well. You sign in at 7am and do not finish running until 5pm. It is a long day and you will be adrenaline drained at the end. There is some social aspect to it, but frankly, your head is so focused on what you are doing to keep your butt and all other body parts attached, that you really cannot unwind until it is all over. And then, like Clint said when we finished Willow Springs...you basically just want to shower and fall down and sleep. Bed would be nice, but hardwood floor works just fine under those conditions!!!!!

Yes folks. I would highly recommend all the LOCAL folks to take this fine opportunity to at least swing by and visit the open track experience from the side line as a spectator. If you're not too shy you might even ask some of them to give you a ride around the course. The track is not far from the Ontario Mills.

I'll be skipping this one as a driver, but I'll be there 2nd part of the day to take some video and see how Ed's doing

I connected with John Wurth at SpeedVentures and he said that you can ride with me, as long as you have a helmet and you sign the standard liability waiver. (you know, the one where if you imbed yourself in a wall you cannot sue them, and they can sell the video to Fox News for lots of money and not share even if it was your left arm that they never found.)

You will know where to find me in the paddock if you decide you want to come. If you want, bring your video cam and the rear window mount and we can shoot some film both front and back.

That sounds really neat Arash.
We can then take the two or three different tapes, I will download them into the computer (and return your tapes to you) and edit and splice them together using the program I have, and then burn you an mpeg video disc. We can do text overlay etc. (Here are Ed and Arash almost keeping it on the road in the hairpin, here is Arash barfing in his helmet with the shield down, here is what the airbag looks like from the seat after it has deployed, here we are looking for Ed's other foot, that kind of stuff). Don't get nervous on me now. That steady cam feature only works for little shakes. LOL.

So Ed I went to California Speedway today.

I went because Jaguar was holding a special day to drive their cars. So i got to drive pretty much the entire line they have to offer. Even the R editions. So they had a raffle and about 20 people who win get to take a 2005 BRAND SPANKING NEW S type R on the Road cource at California Speedway. Of cource I won and got to take it out on the FULL 2.8 mile 21 turn track.


ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS THIS. THIS TRACK IS AWESOME. Not too bad on the brakes but has its share of complicated turns. Such as the double apex in turns 5 and 6. But you can very easily get it up to 150 on the back straight.

When i drove the Jaguar on the track there was a professional race car driver helping everyone out in the car. Pretty much the only mistakes i kept doing was in that double apex. ITS KILLER.

So another lucky thing was at the same time the jaguar event this other event was going on this was going on. Third Annual Southern California Historic Sports Car Festival Man was it crazy i got to talk to some drivers owners etc... The BEST PART was seeing a 1995 Ferarri F1 race car. OMG. The car is worth about half a million. I talked to the owner he told me you can buy these for the same price. But not the new ones. I WAS GOING CRAZY
