Just draw the power off the overhead console map light fixture. If you are going to use the remote readout unit, then it is more complicated. You have to run that wire down one of the A pillars and then to where you want to mount it. The ashtray is a popular spot, but it is a bit of work to get the wire down through the back of the console. A stereo shop is a good place to do it for a reasonable price if you do not want to take any chances yourself. You will have to take the ash liner out to make the unit fit, but it is a nice "stealth" way to do it.

It's really not that hard to install the V1. If you want to do it like mine:

V1 Install

I have it hooked up through the fuse panel in the drivers footwell. I forgot who posted the DIY that suggested that, but it was an excellent idea. The only other thing you have to buy is: Little Fuse FHM800BP which is a fuse adaptor that plugs in your fuse panel and lets you wire your V1 into it. To route the wires I just popped off the A-pillar cover and pushed the wires into the headliner. To get the wire down the dash, I just got a piece of string, tied a small bolt to it and dropped it down with the other end tied to the V1 wire. With the remote display right next to the driver's A-pillar I found that it was really easy to see, and reaching over to the passenger's sunvisor was also easy to mute it.
