Previously, those dumb **** at Nissan decided to up the REV w/o upgrading the INTERNALS to handle it... What kinda dumb DeVRY Graduates are they hiring over there at Nissan?
Even fuking Honda knew that increasing the REV-LIMITS would do damage to the internals if they didn't upgrade it.. Which why is the internals of an LS is different then a GS-R..

I was called in 4 more times after that (every 1000mi) specifically for oil-level testing. The dealership received an approval to replace the engine, and at 14,500mi, after just about 6 months, I drove out with a new one (10102-AC7M9). I was told to go easy for the initial 12-15K.
After driving about 1000mi now, I am running low on oil. I just checked it myself. I plan on taking it to the dealership soon to record it formally.
But this is not the only problem I am having, the new engine seems to be a lot louder and a bit sluggish too.. yes.. definitely not the ride I got used too!!
I would like to hear from users who have been through the replacement and thier findings.
How should I approach this problem now?

If anyone is interested.. here is my post story:
first 1000-1500k oil test according to TSB -- verdict "LOW"
.. filled up oil ..
Now I am at 2200k (1000-1500k testing #2) -- I checked oil levels and nothing has changed.. still way too LOW
Anyone here got a lemon claim filed? Any results?

Man... do I have a case under the Lemon Law? I wouldn't mind trading mine for the new G37... :-)

So the service guy says I need to redo the test... blah, blah, blah. Though I wasn't happy, I agreed. Well, he calls me 4 hrs later saying that they'll go ahead and replace the engine. Apparently, they had an engine available to do the swap.
Things to note after I received the car back:
Since this is a new engine, it will require another break-in period. 1200 miles w/o going over 4000 RPM.
They don't reset the mileage. It stay on whatever it had when the repair was done.
The standard warranty doesn't restart. It just continues like before.
Now, regarding the 5th gear grinding.... Their "analysis" is that I needed a new clutch. They said that's causing the issue. Since I didn't really research this as much, I agreed to have them replace the clutch for $400. Now, if this was truly a clutch issue, won't it NOT shift on any gear? Bastards!
Anyway, with my $400 spent, I still have grinding issue shifting into 5th gear. Headed back there next week and give them a piece of my mind.

G/L and hope your replacement is a winner.

hey all. first post.
i'm really happy this forum exists. i wouldnt have know about this issue w/o it. so thank you.
i just bought a '05 g35 couple w/ manual transmission. so my car may have an OC issue. i've started my own OC test to see whats what.
i have a few questions for you guys from things i've read in this thread...
1. what does VQ mean?
2. what does rev-up mean?
3. i've had cars that consumed oil before. granted the engine should not do that, it was otherwise mechanically sound. i just had to monitor it. is that the case for these motors? if my motor does have an OC issue, but it doesnt fall in the 'No Good' range... is it that big of deal?
thanks for any info.
