^ Hey congrats on your 07 coupe.

Another way your can check now it's yours, is look at your VIN #. Guess you could've while looking to buy, but just thought of this b/c you bought an 07.

TSB has a cut-off date/vin# for 2007 coupes. It's been thought/speculated that VIN#'s after that cut-off production date/vin, already have the V2 revisions made on those VQ's off the production line. Makes somewhat sense that V2's for warranty replacements started May/June 07 and 07 coupes built after May 31, 2007 are after what TSB covers.

If not your case with your VIN, ask to see any past dealer service. It's in any Infiniti dealers system. Look to see if it already had a warranty V2 replacement done for piece of mind.

Either way...yes, check oil level for awhile to be sure. Tailpipes sound like a good sign for you.

Enjoy

I am going to call my dealer to have mine looked at. At a 1000 miles it was down 8mm. At 2400 miles it is down 24mm.

Don't let it out of your sight, and you'll be fine.

How can you tell by the vin number if the car is affected?

VIN doesn't matter unless you have a 2007 coupe.
Look at front page of TSB.

Thanks for the info. Here's another question. I have the Motordyne plenum spacer, MREV2, JWT Pop charger and Z tube installed. Should I take these off and return to stock before going to the dealership? Technically it shouldn't matter but I don't want the dealer to have any excuses as to why it may not qualify for a new motor.

Those shouldn't be a problem, but depends on your dealer. Some mod friendly, some aren't. Read some go back to stock or almost stock before starting testing, some don't. Referring to 350Z owners as well as us G35'ers.

What I personally did with your same thought and concern was, went back to stock but left Ztube on. Probably could've left my JWT on too, but it was no biggie to go back to stock air box so did. Left my Injen cat-back exhaust on too...no issues with my dealer around what I left on.

It's really your call and what you think about your dealer.

Here's some other OC threads you could read up on, as well as this one as a suggestion, to gain a lot of knowledge and history about this issue:

I have a different SN here, but you'll eventually know who I am:

Is the replacement motor you received the rev-up version. The last thing I want is to go backwards. Thanks again for all the help.

If your original is a revup like mine, you will get a revised version rev-up replacement like I did.

Just got my UOA results....My V2 is doing great internally and shows signs of a good build so far, very little wear and expected fuel dilute for an engine still breaking in. Lab says I can safely step it up a notch on being more aggressive with it, but don't go crazy on rpm's yet. w00t w00t...think I've got a winner. UOA's are your friend folks!!

Am I the only one hesitant to replace the engine when I easily qualify at 20,000 miles? I would prefer dealing with the oil consumption until farther out in my warranty, 2 years or 4x,xxx miles and then have it replaced.

I called my dealer. I have to go in for an oil change on Saturday. $50 for that, plus tax he tells me. Then I have to bring it back every 500 miles so they can document it, because without proper documentation he says Infiniti won't pay for it. Only thing is the dealer is 70 miles away.
