just to add to the tsb (i posted this in another couple threads so could be deja-vu):

-for those with the ticking sound that seems to be coming from the driver's vent: i went ahead and performed the 3m procedure in the article but it did not solve my problems. i still had the ticking noise. this passed weekend i managed to find out that the ticking noise is not coming from the vent but in all actuality it is coming from the lower cover under the steering wheel. my steering wheel is positioned fully forward and down. if yours is set-up this way and u have the dreaded ticking sound... this is most likely where the sound is coming from. i found 2 solutions... 1. move the telescoping wheel towards u (which sucked for me, because the wheel was too close) 2. take the bottom cover off and add some felt tape to a few of the areas. i did number 2 and my ticking noise is histroy.
-u can buy run-of-the-mill felt tape at your local hardware store and cut it to size... or u can buy the one nissan/infiniti uses here: http://performancenissanparts.com/ca...f8811e30bdffc7

can someone tell me what the tsb is for the window ticking? i looked but can't seem to find it. basically when my window is rolled down (but not fully ie. half-way or something) i get a ticking noise which i believe happens with the window rattling against the inside finisher that touches the window at the top of the door sill. <- hope that made sense. thanks in advance.

yeah... it's my window. my other ticking noise was from the plastic piece under my steering wheel as i described earlier. my vent doesn't rattle. thanks though. anyone out there with the tsb for the window on the door as described by someone else earlier ??

edit: actually never mind... just re-read the post and it was on a sedan

Regarding the window ticking, I just determined the source of mine is the door "clasp".... I just posted my experience under the "sedan" forum.
Hoperfully this link works...

Just bought my 05 a week ago and have already noted the rear quarter window creak everytime I accelerate. Wow, that was annoying at first. Have kind of forgotten about it now, though, but these TSB are ammo for me to go back to the dealer. Good luck with all your squeaks and creaks!

More and more rattles

I have had 7 separate rattles in my car (side doors, mirror, sunroof, back pan, quarter panel window and center console) and there seems to be a new one every 2,000 miles. Can't wait till the clock and vent rattles kick in. The rattle in my center console is coming from the round disk around the automatic shift gearstick because when I press on it the rattling stops. Has anybody heard of this one yet?

Right now I have 4 active rattles and a brake squeal. Between the buzzing noizes, cricket squeaks and squeals, it sounds like a symphony of insects in the country woods. I'm disgusted. I've brought all of these to the dealer's attention and they either don't want to admit these rattles exist or think I'm imagining it. The few that they have been able to fix have all returned after 2 weeks.

My 2006 G35x (one of the first made as a 2006) had the shifter squeak. It took two trips to the dealership but as soon as I went out with the tech on the morning of the second visit, he heard it right away and fixed it up for me. I didn't even read this thread until now. Go figure...
