Gear for an AT5 dyno pull?

I know I've seen this in the tech area, but was unable to put the right string together to get a search result. I'm getting the car in for its first dyno run this week, then one after the techosquare reflash. Guy with the dyno not to familiar with G's, so he might need help with this:

What gear should the AT be in for the pulls--3rd or 4th?

Thanks for the heads-up, will post the results (if I can figure how to get the scans of the print-outs on!) after the run with the reflash done.

Edit: probably got this in the wrong spot, but how do you post in the forum it should be in. Only time I can get a new post tab is in the G-spot!

4th is 1:1, but 3rd is the preferred dyno gear because of the torque converter.

Aren't 4th and 5th full lock up gears? I've always dyno'd 1:1 like the manuals do.

6MT Coupe
Most shops only will in 3rd and only 4th with manuals.
True, 4th is 1:1 with auto and 5th is 1:1 with mt's. I had 5 pulls done on my 6mt at a shop who would do 1:1. Had 3 in 4th and two in 5th, because I was curious if there was a difference.

There was no difference really between the two gears. My best pull was in 5th by + .5 to 1 hp, but results in the same gear will have a greater variance of that between all pulls.

My conclusion is, it doesn't matter which gear on 6mt's 4th or 5th. Autos torque converter could make a difference I suppose, idk.

Just my .02 and what was proven to me on my 6mt.

its 4th guys, not 3rd. you want a 1:1 ratio when you dyno a car.

owning a dynojet and playing around with all the time, that is not true on my dyno.

many many many pulls with every type of car with every type of mods done to it. usually the gear with more load and better exhaust escape per rpm works the best for higher numbers... this is on my dynojet of course
