Just reflash it with the corresponding "back to stock" rom for your ECU and it will return the ECU to stock and put the Osiris license back on the cable. At that point anyone can use it, just like a new one. They sell for around $300~350 used in the classifieds.

okay so my cable is dead. the last time I hooked it up, it wanted to update the firmware. initiated the update and my wifi crashed before it was complete. now my cable is not seen by Osiris or Cipher

I emailed UpRev and those jokers want me to buy a new cable. isn't there a firmware download I can manually update?

You're boned. If you interrupt the firmware update the chip is corrupted and it becomes an expensive paperweight.

Really? That sucks so hard.
How can they sell me just a cable? How would it correspond with my license already in the ecu? In that case I just want to upload a new tune. Could I borrow my buddies cable just to interface with my ecu and load a new rom?

Yes it does. Unfortunately I don't make the rules, and I've even had to junk one of my own in the past when I learned that firmware upgrade bit the hard way.

The cables are not linked to anything, you can buy a new one, or a used one, or use your buddies to upload the rom. No problems at all.

EPiK seems like you guys got a win-win with my old tune/cable. Sorry to hear about your Cipher, that sucks, but at least it's not as big a deal as it could have been.

Load base fuel schedule for a/t shifting

Calculated Load
Axis = Engine RPM. Axis is static (not adjustable).
The ECU calculates the calculated load by dividing the current base fuel schedule into the value that is in this table for
the given RPM
Im really trying to understand how this table works and what exactly the values represent. Its obviously related to base fuel schedule but Im unsure how and why the numbers rise then fall??

So, I've been busy and still have not installed the Innovate WB02 in order to log some runs. Meanwhile, I spent half the last month in Atlanta with family and decided that maybe while I'm there I'll just dyno and get a final tune.

I got some disturbing news talking to a very well respected tuner in the Atlanta area. He said that if I have test pipes and am blanking out the rear o2 sensors, that if I do a new tune then there is a recent required update that does not allow that and the car will display a constant CEL.

He suggested that if the car is running well on a base tune now, then just to leave it to avoid the required update with the new tune.

I'm kinda ticked.. is this the truth?

Yea, the car is running well, but it is a generic base tune, and I know that there is more to be had. His point was that if the CEL is on and something does go wrong you won't know it until too late.. in other words I have to look at it all the time and will ignore other possible issues.

other possibilities are the MD ART pipes that I eventually want to get, I know they have o2 extenders which may avoid tripping a CEL.. any input Joe?

That change in the software happened about a year ago, nothing we can do about it.

If you have your base tune ROM file, they can "import" the settings into a new tune. I had to do that when I added ARC features, and it copied over the DTC disable parameters. I just have no way of changing that right now.

Would be good to find someone how had a backup copy of the old Uprev Rom editor and they can toggle the settings that way, then just import into new ROM file base.

I updated for the ARC license and flash and now I do not see CIPHER installed at all on my PC.

I cant even find CIPHER on UpRev's site...

Is it gone or are the features now in ROM-Editor and I am just not seeing them?

I see retrieve DTC's, but not target idle, clearing learned fuel settings, etc.

Cipher and Osiris (the reflash program) were discontinued a while ago. We do everything through Rom Editor now. Not all of the features carried over
