Like Mike said.. It's a CD slot, not a DVD slot. The CD player in the V36 cars doesn't support DVD's.

I know this thread is old, but I found some additional information for updating the Nav for our sedans. Apparently, there is a C-III DVD/computer system and special cable w/ CF card adapter used to update the HDD installed in our sedans. Check out the TSB: Infiniti Navigation System 10 - 11 for HDD System

ya i read that but from what i saw in various discussions that option is only made possible for 10+ Gs I would think that should work but its too big of a risk for the initial investment and i doubt ill be updating more than twice in the entire lifetime of my car so not worth it, might as well use the dealer i guess

I will be getting my nav updated this Friday. $99 for the activation code, $55 for dealership labor. I'm thinking an update every two or three years (if I keep it that long).

Anyone done this update recently at a dealer for a 2007 G35x? Will have had my car for 5 years in November and have yet to update. So many roads in the DC area have changed that I have to have it updated. Dont mind paying them to do it if there isnt a significant savings in doing it myself - mostly b/c I'm only going to do it once every few years.

Thanks.

I have a 2007 G35X. I got a map update for the first time last January for the latest map. I don't live in the DC area but visit there a couple of times per year. It was nice getting the update, but as of July, some roads already changed. But it was worth getting the update after 4 years and worth it.
