Ipod For 07 Sedans

Here is what I got
you can buy 3 factory nissan/infiniti parts (2 harnesses and an ipod module) that give you ipod throught the factory controls. it is a part that was originally made just for the nissans but it works on most infiniti's. i have an 07 sedan with xm and it works. kinda wierd to get used to the controls but after a few days no big deal. no steering wheel function except vol. You use the seek up and down as the up and down button functions and the tune **** as the enter button. You get all info on screen , only issue is you need to extend ipod cord unless you wanna leave it in trunk ,but you need to unplug ipod the get xm music since the ipod inteface interupts the xm. If you are going to extend ipod cable then my suggestion is to do as i did and put a switch on the yellow wire in the cable, then you just have to flip the switch to go from xm to ipod. this is the best solution i have found the the ipod issue for the 07 sedan.

hope this helps

part numbers are

ipod module 999u7-vr002-got from nissan dealer
harness 999u7-vs000-got from infiniti dealer
harness 999u7-vs001-got from infiniti dealer

I and Brian who sells these have been saying this for months but nobody wants to listen...
I have been installing this on the FX for over a year (including my own) and it works great.

AWESOME!!

Can you post some pics and wiring/setup instructions? Or is this something only the dealer can handle?

install is pretty easy, dont think dealer would do anyway since it is technically a part for nissans only

Is it possible that there may be an updated module (maybe similar to what's used in the '08 G35) that will work even better on an '07 G35?

Right. The Nissan Ipod adapter emulates a sat reciever.

Johnmax,

Do I need to have xm (and/or the premium package) to use this thing? Or are all the cars satellite ready, even if I don't have satellite radio installed?

thanks

All the cars are sat ready. You don't need sat for this.

Can we have a sticky thread with a photo step by step on how to do this? It's been asked hundreds of times, and if you do a search on ipods you get a hundred hits with info scattered all over the place.

^^ Use the advanced search, you can specify only to look in the thread titles, and which areas of the forum you are interested in. DIY Threads of this nature should be in the 07 tech section, but I can link it in the FAQ thread if you want.
