Update on Testing: Just thought I'd give everyone an update, All is working perfect, I took a trip to Jersey for work and used it twice. A worthwhile upgrade to the G. nothings more frustrating they paying $2000 for a Navigation system and still having to pull over to find a gas station!!!!!
Off subject: I was very impressed as I was taking apart the car, everything is wrapped in felt or foam. the precision which everything was built was fantastic. It's amazing to see all the work put into this car that's not even visible. The complete opposite of an American car, no wonder anything American rattles more then a can of nickles at a cat.

I was intentionally testing this out about 15 minutes ago. I deliberately kept going at keyboard to keep the bypass activated and drove for about a mile that way to see if the GPS would get lost. The GPS re-aquired within 5 seconds and moved the map to the correct location.

The steering wheel controls are just an extension of the other controls.
The steering controls that were locked (greyed out) when the car is moving, will now work while the car is in motion.
The OK button is also automatically pushed for you so you don't have to do it manually anymore.

I let it go for about 10 minutes in bypass and it was able to aquire in 5-6 seconds.
So I'd say being conservative, on average use, it's 3-5 seconds for a fully corrected aquire. worst case would be 10 seconds, but probably rare.

Thanks for the feedback guys. We are having a strange issue with a local tester, hopefully I'll be able to check it out by this weekend. I think, at this point, I forgot to plug the GPS antenna back in. This is just a theory right now, but I'm hoping that that is all it is. Another strange thing about his car is now his clock doesn't display in the top right corner. I believe this clock is GPS based so that could explain why it is not there. There are enough positive responses to assure me that the problem was with my installation and not with the module at this point.
On a side note, anyone know anyone with a G37 coupe that would be interested in testing this out?
