But I understand where KP is coming from though. You have all these people complaining about the locked out features, and when something like this comes along it gets a lukewarm reception at best.
Everyone that was crying about it should be lining up with their money ready to go, but instead you have only a handful of people willing to commit. Makes it seem like most people were really crying about video while moving and not the locked out features.

I'm in.

We will most likely be looking for 5 people who can perform the installation themselves (we don't like our test units to be professionally installed) in a timely manner. In exchange, we will offer the unit at a big discount. If you are interested and capable of testing the unit please add your name to the list:
We will contact people when we get closer to having the actual modules.

In happy to help test your module.
I have plenty of experience soldering and 'hacking' all types of devices.
Just let me know what I owe you- less than $100 sounds like a deal to me.
As others mentioned, it would be nice if some of the other modules were able to be implanted along with this.
Thanks for all you efforts!

I've been spending a little time on the circuit board. It's kind of an interesting design compared to our other modules in the fact it's completely different then most of the stuff we do. Once the board is complete I'll submit it for the prototypes. I'll have to order a few components and then we'll be ready to go!

Kevin,
I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that want this mod but don't want the headache of taking the car apart and doing the mod themselves. Hopefully the testing procedure with the 5 volunteers goes well and passes quickly so the rest of us can buy them and have it professionally done.

It will only effect the parts you modify.
If you install this module and your screen goes out or quits working it wouldn't void the warranty on the screen.
But, if you install the module and your 'OK' button quits working then the warranty could be voided for that, since the module ties directly in to the 'OK' button circuitry.
If you are soldering and you melt a hole through the circuit board (which isn't possible) or you drop a blob of solder on the circuit board and short out another circuit that obviously wouldn't be covered either. If you break, scratch, etc any of the pieces while taking the dash apart that obviously wouldn't be covered, either.
All of our modules have current limited inputs and outputs. The inputs of this module are current limited to less then 0.002 amps making it virtually impossible that the added circuitry will damage anything in the vehicle.
