BC Racing vs Tanabe COs

I had originally planned on getting the Tanabe Sustec Pro CO's after reading Q8y_drifters review of them, however I just found out about the BC Racing CO's and they are similarly priced. I tried searching for more information about the BC Racing CO's but it seems like not a lot of members have these installed. Anyone have any information/experience with these CO's?

Subscribed for input as well. I know tanabe is only height adjustment, but I think the BC's have damper adjustment. With BC being priced at the lower end of the spectrum, does it mean the quality isn't as good?

Searched around online and it appears that everyone is pretty happy with their BC CO's, so I will be taking this route. Will keep you updated with opinions once I have them installed.

Whats the ETA on these coils? Does Ravspec have these on hand? Thinking about going this route as well.

Ordered mine thru b2autodesigns, think that they have a couple more if you're interested. Shoot them a PM.

I've had BC Racing COs on my O8 G35s Sedan for about 2 months. There should be a pic of my ride somewhere on here but its from when I had my eibachs. The BCs have a very good ride quality (once set up properly). They have a 30-way damper adjustment. Mines are set right in the middle and they ride great. I had issues once the springs settled....my car was way too low (wheels tucked) and the ride was kind of bouncy. Once I had it raised (to about a 1 finger gap or maybe a little less) they ride a lot better. I haven't messed with the damper adjustment all that much because once my ride was set up it felt cool so I just left it alone:-). Oh yeah, if you want to use the rear damper adjustment you're going to have to drill a hole through the trunk area to get to it. BCs come shipped with adjustment extenders for the rear.

And here's the bad part. I looks like BC didn't do a test fit for rear of the O7+ Sedans. I barely have a half finger gap in the rear and my height adjustment is at it's maxium (can't get anymore out of it).

Hope this helps

Do you have any rattling? I heard that this is one of the issues with bc coils.

coldcut, can you confirm the part #'s on your rears? or perhaps the spring rates? I think originally BC provided the softer springs but revised it with stiffer ones. (Or was that for the front?)

beezy, from what i've gathered BC revised the front plates to fix the rattling issues.

Is this comfirmed by BC themselves? Seems like a bad business decisions If they don't advertise this...

As far as bouncing goes, well that's why they offer custom spring rates.
And techincally, doesn't the car bounce when the springs are too stiff for the shocks to handle?

I also forgot to say that there's a member who just posted pics for his X sedan and his rear is pretty low/tucked, which goes against your theory on the 07+ rears

^ I think what coldcut is saying is that he can't get the rears any higher.
