19" Rim Question
19" Rim Question
I have some 19" BBS LM Replicas from my 04 G coupe, theyre +15 offset in the front and +20 in the rear. Now my question is, with a different set of rubber can I make these wheels work? I was thinking a 225 in front and 255 out in the rear. I just got my sedan and it will be getting lowered on HR's this weekend. Please let me know as soon as possible, and if you think I will require a fender roll post drop with these rims/tires. Thanks for all the help guys
I think you might get some better luck posting in the V35 coupe section.

I am not an expert by any means but I think even with a good stretched tire you will need to run a good helping of negative camber to make it work especially in the rear.
Maybe some of our more knowledgeable offset/tire members will chime in to put in some more info.

i just found this through searching but not sure what he has done camber wise, tire size, or fender rolling wise. any help would be great, i still have these wheels and it would be awesome if i could reuse them!

yea i saw that as well. Dont the HR's give you a fairly low drop? Ive been searching and searching. Not all that much info and i dont want to buy stuff and have to sell it later on cause it doesnt work! i have the 245/35/19 on the front (8.5') rim i could use those on the rear, however if youre saying i wont be as low maybe i can get away with a little bit wider?
I responded to your PM, and I am copying my response below so others can see my response..... Good luck!
First, it can work, but on the rear you are going to need to stretch the tire, and run some pretty good negative camber. The front will be fine.
On the front you will be fine with a 235/40, but it may make more sense to go with a 225/40. You really could go up to a 245/40, but I don't think you want to do that on the X (I explain why below). The wheel itself will be pretty flush with the fender on the H&R drop (maybe 3mm tucked in).
The rear is a lot more aggressive, and is a little tough for several reasons. You really need to run something like a 255/35, and a lot of negative camber (over -2.5, probably closer to -3).
My only concern is on the X, you should really keep the front and rear tire circumference as close as possible. The 225/40 and 255/35 are lot closer (only .2% off). A 265/35 is closer to the 235/40 (the 255 is 1.4% off, and the 265 is .4% off), and with how aggressive you are on the rear, I really think you need to stick with a 255/35.
The best tire sizes for your X are either the 225/40 and 255/35 or 235/40 and 265/35. Either way, you will need to run a lot of negative camber in the rear, and the front will be fine. Just make sure you get toe in the factory spec.
Also, there is not really anything to roll on the sedan fenders. The rear is cut from the factory. You will need to trim the inner fender liner on the rear, but it is really easy (it is a felt material). You can't roll the front, but you should be fine there (it has to be pinched as rolling will damage the fender).

with a 265 will i have to run even more camber? I want to run as close to the stock setup as possible, so im assuming a 235 and 265 setup will be optimum. I just dont know how worth it it will be in the long run, as i dont wanna be ripping through tires crazy fast

VDC will be fine. It is only looking at the slip between wheels and your F/R is off by less than 0.5%.
Not sure on the speedo. What are you stock tire sizes.
