Thank you for a fantastic write up! I ordered my kit from Riverside and it arrived in four days! Install was very straight forward, within an hour of disconnecting my battery, I was on my test drive. In fact putting the new trim in place took longer than anything else! By far this was one of the most rewarding, quickiest and easiest mods I've ever done.

Yup... Still one of my favorite mods. We're still unable to convince Wes of it's ease of install.
Wes, just do it already!!!

I was told by Tony yesterday you can install these without removing the wheel. Is that not true? It appears that two screws are block by the base of the steering wheel, so I can't believe it's possible to install without removing. Anyone do this without removing the wheel?

I pulled my wheel.
It's not difficult and not worth any additional efforts by not removing it to begin with.

Thanks for the great write up. The hardest part of this mod is getting the plastic covers on right. Took about 1 hour total time.

PS: If anyone it stripping the Torx bolt removing the airbag you are not using a TAMPER PROOF T-30 wrench. I almost bought the wrong wrench. I told the guy at Sears what I was doing and he asked if I needed a tamper proof wrench or not. Glad I asked. You should never strip this bolt with the right tool.

Great post. I just got a 2008 G37 Coupe Journey, Premium. I ordered the kit and then discovered I don't have the connectors. Isn't this odd for a 2008? Did I miss something?

I thought the 08's were prewired if equipped with the premium package.
Search for it... There's info on this.

Sorry, I can't link you. No copy/paste on my iPhone. :-(

That's what I'd read, but I took my wheel and trim off and no connectors. I was at the dealer today getting a car wash and they said to call the service mgr on Monday to see if he knew anything about it. The sales people were very interested to know that you can add the shifters. We'll see.

BTW - my first Infiniti, great car and really good service at the dealer!

Wes, just install the paddle shifters. They make driving a heck of a lot more fun IMO. If you are worried about botching the job/alignment of your steering wheel, have your local friendly stealership do it. Trust me..or maybe more like Aeson, the paddles add another dimension to driving your G

Taking off the wheel etc is a piece of cake. Took me 30 minutes with my 2 year old "helping". Nothing to be afraid of if you follow the instructions.
