A quick update …

I’m still waiting to get my car back. This coming Saturday will mark the end of week 5 which is +2 weeks more than originally estimated. As of yesterday around 4:00, the car has still not been started up. I didn’t go over there last weekend because I thought they were going to finish early this week, so no pictures.

In speaking with them, the car has gone through some pretty extensive changes that went beyond what they expected, making this more of a development project rather than an installation. The differences between the G37 coupe and the G35 sedan were more than anticipated. A couple of items that took more time than expected include:

1) The ICC sensor has been moved over to the blocked off opening on the driver’s side. The move is supposed to look “factory”. The bumper was not modified the last time I visited, so I will see the results for the first time when I pick up the car.

2) As of yesterday, the test pipes they originally planned for the car did not fit the way they wanted it to, so a new set was being fabricated.

I’ll contact them at the end of the day to see where they are at.

unfortunately, that is the norm in this business.

i would be surprised otherwise.

Forgot to mention armoring shops

no sniffer here, just ob2 inspection via ecu data port. all i need is no codes.

on my 02 sentra specv i had a full turbo kit, with no fuel temp sensor, and no cats. got it to pass by various methods to get the codes to stay off.

Tennessee, I am lucky? pfft, its still a bunch of trouble.
Most of the 96 counties in this state run without any emissions checks. I am in one of the 10 or so "sprawling" counties that are cashing in and elevating their standards

another way to get 100 bucks per car every year (wheel tax/emission(ob2 check only on 1997 and later)/tags)

As of now you still have it better than us Californians. I wish all they would do is plug into the OB2. The environmental mindset out here is really making it difficult to do any kind of major mods.

Man i found out through my good friend, Wideband o2, that if you tune that car just right at idle and a set rev rpm, you can pass the sniffer too. it will run lean enough to not trip the sniff.

and just weld a heatsheild on your test pipe, suddenly it becomes a catalytic converter during the visual check.

lastly clear that code and set the "readiness" through a specific driving cycle(set by manufacturer) and you too can pass to get legal certification! lol

the things i did to get legalized and avoid johnny law

I am not surprised about the test pipes. I purchased a set of high flow cats for a G37 and they were not even close to fitting my sedan. Wrong angle at the y-pipe and too short as well.
