TS Reflash for 08 G35

Hey guys, I just bought a G35 few months ago, love it , and thought about doing reflash for my car.

When I call TS and gave them my ECU #, they said they don't have any program for my car yet unless I want to send in my ECU.

Couple of guys here on the forum already done the reflash at TS, I just wondering if there is any different between the 07 and 08 ECU#

My G35 is 08 Journey 5AT

i think they only have a reflash for the 2WD Auto. So if you have a X or a 6MT then it wouldn't work. i'm only guessing so don't quote me.

Some ecu's are not qualified to get the reflash.

So when they say send your ecu, they are going to send your ecu to japan, it's going to be modded there, sent back, and be put back into your car.

Stock or modded cars are both able to get reflashed. The issue is, Infiniti has different ECU programs for each variation of their cars. For example, the following cars may have slightly different ECU programs that are not compatible w/ one another:

07 G35 AT
07 G35 MT
07 G35X
08 G35 AT
08 G35 MT
08 G35X
09 G37 AT
09 G37 MT
09 G37X

As you can see, even the 07 and 08s, which have seemingly the same engine, could have sufficient variation such that a reflash program for an 07 might not work in an 08. Cars w/ different transmissions (MT vs. AT) will definitely require different reflash programs. I would strongly believe the same goes for X vs. non-X.

Therefore, for TS to reflash your car, depending on whether or not they've done a reflash for your particular year/transmission/x or non-x, they may or may not be able to easily reflash your car. If they don't have one for your car, they are willing to do it. The only thing is, your car (actually just your ECU) becomes the guinea pig. So, you ship them your ECU, they send it to Japan for them to do the code breaking, etc. and ship it back to TS. This process may require a few weeks.

OTOH, if they have a reflash for your car, it's just a matter of how fast you can express mail your ECU to them and for them to ship it back to you.

Not that at all.
You understood me wrong.

Some ECUs are not listed, like a different model number, so it can't be reflashed because it's not in their list of ECUs they can reflash.
Thats why they send it to japan to get modded somehow. Send it back here, they reflash it, and send it back to you.

Unlike me, i live 20 min away from TS and i took my car there and took a few hours and i was done.

Not a noob question at all. Most of the people on here barely know what it does.
It will give you more horsepower and more torque, but also the speed limiter is taken off and the rev limiter too. You have better throttle response, redline is set at 8K, mpg is improved (not by much). The car overall is turned into a beast. lol

Awesome...thanks for the clarification! Does anyone know when it will be available for a 2008 G35x, and what the actual cost of something like that would be? Also, where can I go to get it done?

The reason I'm asking is that living above 4,500ft. elevation, my car is a bit more sluggish than when I'm at sea level, so with the additional horsepower or torque (although minimal) would help with the performance.

Thanks for all your help guys! You guys are a wealth of knowledge =)

Well you call Technosquare and ask them when it will be available for you model. I think it already is though.
As to where to get it done, where do you live.
If you don't near Torrence, CA then you have to take the ECU out yourself.

Here is a DIY for taking out the ECU.

Thanks G35Robby. I was wondering what "TS" meant, but was afraid that it was another noob question to ask

Unfortunately, I don't live near Torrence but I do visit family in OC quite often and will definitely make a trip to Technosquare the next time I'm down there. I live in Reno, NV near Lake Tahoe if anyone knows of a good shop that can perform this process, as I'm too scared to follow the DIY that G35Robby posted
