Throttle Body Cleaning?
yes but not completely i wasn't sure how to open the butterfly plate without starting or turning the car to ON position so i just sprayed and cleaned the outside of the plate which was a bit dirty, so any ideas would be nice. i am interested as iv done it before on my old cars that were mechanical and really easy to clean by opening the butterfly valve easily from the engine bay.
even at a slight idle the car is still sucking in quite a bit of air. the chances of sucking something in there are too great.
Also i doubt the car would even stay running. it has to have a signal from the MAF and without air flowing through it while the engine is on the computer would tell the engine to cut all fuel stalling it out.
sucking in something? i only allow a crack so i can stick the nozzle in spray. also my engine bay is kept show-room clean. and i've been doing this to all my "weekend" cars for over 5 years. you just need a second person to keep it from stalling.
also i dont think you know much knowledge about MAF's to think it will automatically stall out. you really think everytime a turbo car blows an IC piping, it stalls? runs like crap yes. stalls? not necessarily.

you just press on the plate on one of the sides away from the crossbar and it opens right up. Then you just continue to spray at the gunk and wipe with a lint free shop towel. within 5 minutes they are all shiny like new.
total time for cleaning both sides was maybe 30min.

^what are you using to spray (just curious). I usually use a generic air intake cleaner spray, you suggest anything in particular?

unless you want to go hardcore and disassemble the TB for a full clean, spraying this usually does the trick without the BS of resetting ecu's etc etc. this is super easy and can be done even with a car idling. i cant comprehend why people have such issues on this forum.
