just installed

Thanks guys! After reading all 9pgs of this thread I was well prepared.
I just installed this intake on my 35x and my first impression is wow! Although I cant detect any noticeable hp gain, the growl emitting from underneath my hood is fabulous! Of course this is only noticeable above 3500rpm but thats just how I like it.
BTW, Takeda did supply additional hoses however, I recommend replacing the rubber boots cause the ones supplied were difficult to snug & tighten around the Driver's side intake. (just as one of the previous guys did on this forum with the red boots)

I used the promo code THEORY to order the intake (TR-3008P) for my 2007 G35x from AFE, http://www.takedausa.com/application/applications.php, but no discount. Does anyone have a new code? Thanks.

If anyone intested in buying a Takeda intake, please let me know. I have a slightly used one for sale... It's only been in the car for a few months and I've been very happy with it, but I no longer need it as my car is at GTM right now getting a Super Charger installed! I also have a used K&N Typhoon Intake that I'll be looking to get rid of. PM me if your interested.

Sam's offering me too good of a deal to be the first Sedan for his new Rotrex Supercharger, so I just couldn't pass it up. Plus his SC torque curve is so much flatter than his TT kit, which means much better driveability... exactly what I'm looking for!

Should be a huge "boost" in HP!!! Sam's estimating the Vq35HR will be a tad over 500 FWHP with this kit, or around 435 RWHP.

Yeah, I can't wait to get it back and take it to the track!!!

The car pulled around 260 RWHP on GTM's DynoJet last year when it was basically stock, so that means I should see around 175 RWHP gain! Sam's gonna put the car back to stock this week and rerun the baseline dyno this weekend before he starts the SC install, so we'll have more accurate starting figures.

Wow thread back from the dead. Not sure they sell this anymore. (I still have it on my car btw hehe). They look to have a new design:

I have a k&n intake just the like the takeda I have sitting in a box (used for about 2 months) that's basically the same thing as this. If your interested I'd sell for less than $100.

Actually I found it. They don't list it under the G35 since it's not a perfect fit. (I.E. you have to buy your own foot of rubber tubing to make it work). I think it's an extra $7 at your local auto-shop.

It's pretty easy. The reason why it's not an exact fit is because there's a little elbow that comes off the main pipe on each tube that is at a slightly different angle from a G37 and a G35. It's slightly enough that you need a little more flexible tubing to fit it than the one supplied. If your doing the intakes be prepared to not drive for about an hour or two. It's not hard (there's lots of pictures included) it's just once you start you can't stop until you finish. If you need help I can definitely help just reach out to me.

I am bringing it back from the dead again! I just ordered the Takeda intake (part #TR-3008P) for my 08' G35S Sedan and I had the exact same problem on the driver side when I tried to install it yesterday. I was going to return until I found this so I am going to get tubing that is more flexible and try it again. Is that all that needs to be change and everything will fit perfectly?

I have also seen the other part # TR-3009P and it's confusing about which one to get for my G. Any info about the 2 different part #'s as well?
