because of the "outrageous" HP claims they were making and the lack of the heat shields.

can anyone confirm that they are in fact redesigning the heatshield to make it more complete?

and I have two questions hope Jack can answer

1) do I need to reset my ECU after installl?
2) what does Bully Dog do? I have a 6MT model
Sorry for the delayed responses (I've been slammed at work). I would definitely reset your ECU. It will make your re-map faster considering you have more "air" now. As far as the Bully Dog.... I've written a review and unfortunately it's very very very very very long, but to summarize I'd just read the 1st page of the Bully Dog First Impressions page. (and then possibly the last 2-3 pages).

I was told that they ARE working on making heat shield's from a manager at AFE. (Although there is no ETA) I was also told that originally they tested heat shields and it made no real difference when moving. The only thing that heat shield's will help is if your in high heat weather and your sitting at a stop for an extended period of time. I did my own testing and found with my K&N (which has heat shields) the temps to be roughly about +/- 4 degrees. I could never tell that heat shields made any difference when I had them.

well i just installed the Takedas. Install was pretty easy aside from cutting the tubing to make it fit. That was a pain in the ***.

The sound is amazing. Sounds great. I dont know if I feel any performance differences good or bad but it does sound good.

three problems I ran into. 1. I snapped off the center bolt to the engine cover. Half of it is on the ground, half of it is still in the engine block. 2. I have an odd high pitched sound that comes on and off every once in awhile with the engine running. Cant figure out what the noise is or where its coming from but its driving me nuts. 3. The Takeda emblems on the actual intake are peeling off. WTF!!

Im going to cruise around for a little bit but I have a feeling that these might be put up for sale very soon.

the fitment as everyone has said is not for a G sedan. I fabricated the hoses as needed to make it fit but I wasnt happy with the fitment still. The sticker emblems on the intake peeled off after 30min of driving. All in all, Takeda and the vendor I purchased from were very helpful. Takeda is aware of both the problems and plan on creating a fix for both. They will most likely start including a hose kit like the R2C.

I just ordered the R2C yesterday actually....
