Short Ram Intake

I'm looking to buy a new intake and i'm not looking for serious power gains so i decided on a short ram intake. Which should i get for the most power gains/best sound for the money. My option are AEM $420, aFe Stage 2 Pro DryS $290, Injen $325, K&N Typhoon $428, Takeda Retain $340. Also I have an '08 G35S sedan.

Everyone will have their own choice and bias, and for me its R2C! But if you're going for intakes then go for them in terms of sound, looks and ease of maintenance since performance gains are minimal and pretty close for most intakes.

I just bought the K&N because it was $270 on Ebay and they have heat shields (which is a good idea on a short ram IMO). They're all pretty much cone filters on an aluminum tube, so I wouldn't put too much weight on any one brand being significantly better.

For short ram, R2c.

They haven't been making filters for the military for 20 years for nothing!

I've done a few "intakes" in myday and most of them just made more noise, but this one seems a bit peppier. It's tough to tell for sure since dynoed often show a gain, but some people say there is no gain to be had.

I agree, R2C. It's been great so far.
