I'm bumping the old thread.
I would like to know more about how to do this.
I see that there is labeled awd. So basically I buy a fuse tap and place a fuse and connect it to a switch?
And how will it kill the power?
I'm not sure how to do this

Has anyone with this mod had their car in drive with all four wheels in the air (jack stands or lift) to see if any power at all reaches the front wheels? Why do all serious turbo/supercharger installers that know what they're doing still revert to dropping the front driveshaft before tuning the car on a dyno instead of doing this? Is it lack of knowledge, or is there more to it?

It works

Just did this to my 07 X yesterday switch and all and it works great. I still shut my car off before changing from awd to rwd and rwd to awd. VTC does still work with rwd only and you can do "burnouts" and slide around now. I just have a simple interrupter switch ( will post pictures later.
My question to the original poster do you or have you switched without shutting off your car first?

Thumbs up I made "the switch"

Here's what I ended up doing. took a dremel to the plastic pieces and it fits very well. very clean install. works great. thanks for the write up borderline.
