Replaced my clutch over the weekend. Went with a CZP flywheel and Exedy clutch kit. Still have master and slave cylinders to replace, ran out of time.
Also installed a Z1 Motorsports trans mount. Don't think I like it. Shifts feel great and no slop off the line, but even though it's urethane, it transfers a lot of noise into cabin. I thought I installed something wrong or had a blockage in my exhaust. Definitely makes the car sound and feel more like a race car vs GT cruiser. I'll give it another week to see if it grows on me.

It took me and a friend 6 hours. I planned ahead and got new gaskets and hardware for my exhaust, as expected the bolts snapped.
I wish I had investigated a burning oil smell before hand though, turns out a cam angle sensor is leaking and dripping oil onto the manifold. Would have been so easy to replace with the trans off.

Today I made "The Switch"
Hello everyone!
I lurk around the forum mostly reading and devising plans but today I would like to share with you my take on the classic "Make your AWD g35x a rear wheel drive G35 (with an extra couple pounds and an open diff)". I used the "make your AWD g35x rwd no joke" thread as guide and my own adaptations to do this.
I installed the switch in my center console, took a little bit of work with a dremel to get the switch itself to fit with all of the plastic ribs hiding underneath. Down position with the safety cover on it is all wheel drive, and up is rear wheel drive. I admit it would look better with a black interior and the "Rice" factor is maybe too high for many of your tastes.
I put a sheet of felt around it because it looked kinda naked in contrast to the tan interior.

I think with crimps and wiring my total was $15; and with about an hour and a half invested in the project to completely change how the car drives is fantastic.

I read this post in a notification and came here ready to bash away but call me crazy, I like the look! Plus you get to choose on the fly how you want the car to behave. Great job.....

Half of the reason I put it there was because with a little mod like this. it puts a smile on my face when I flip it up, shift it forward and then go into the "danger zone". Really puts you in the mood for a fun drive. If it wasn't as clean of an install it would look terrible imo but I'm glad it worked out and I don't have to buy a new $50 trim piece. Also gets the attention of perspective passengers and then launches into a discussion about what all I've done to the car, which is always fun to discuss.

VDC still works with AWD disabled and pretty well I might add. Dash only lights the AWD light and nothing else. I haven't really done anything too "hooligan" yet because I like my tires. But next heavy rain/snow I will report back on its abilities. Does the VDC button not turn it off enough for a little fun? if not then whats the point of having an off button?

I guess I need to read up on VDC... when I turn off mine I have no problem steering the car thru the turns with the throttle. When the VDC is on it cuts power at the first slip of the rear wheels. So I guess I should figure out what else I'm losing (?) with it off. I actually prefer the car without all the doodads driving for me. That's why I have a rwd 6mt
