Has anyone had them suck in water under heavy or light rain?

 

^ many threads on here and especially myg37.com, discussing how its not possible for these intakes to suck in nearly enough water to cause any concerns due to their high placement, the intakes have to be submerged in water to suck in water and cause any damage.

are you planning to buy these or already have em?

But with that said and understood, i still decided to take the safe route and go with R2C to keep the install simple and safe, and the quality of the shields and filters is unbeatable, plus the easy dry filter maintenance is a huge plus as well considering the filters are very easy to access and clean with pressurized air. this is just my experience and opinion.

Those R2C intakes look very nice do they offer the same gains as the Stillen intakes?

 

gains for most intakes on our cars are all almost the same, there is a dyno on r2c site of gen3 vs r2c, but i would rather get the intakes for looks, sound and moderate gains on the higher rpms.

 

So from what i'm getting you get more power from the Stillen without a tune and on higher rpm's but the r2c is better mid range but gain less without a tune

 

just get the intake that you think looks the best.

 

^ whs, and yes your analysis seems correct, but do your research before you make a decision(especially on myg37.com on gen3 & r2c to get all pros and cons), i dont want to go on and tell you what to get and why cause that will be considered as a biased opinion, but i did my research and analyzed all the pros and cons and thought of what i was looking for in the long run and made a decision that i am very happy with.

 

i wud never install an intake in my G . . these things don't work out in our VQs .
a drop in filters are way better and are enough !
