The dome/map, step/courtesy, trunk/cargo, front side marker, and license plate lights are all the same. I replaced mine with LED equivalent of 168/194.

Any easy way to replace the license plate bulbs? I want to install some super whites similar to the IS350's license plate lights.

There are two individual bulbs above the license plate (each with their own housing) the housings simply pop out with a push-tab on one side and a fixed tab on the other. Just look above the license plate at an upward angle from the ground and you'll see them. I noticed how easy they were when my car was up on a lift at the exhaust shop :-) Just replaced mine last night along with a few other's on the car - got the cool white LED's - they look great!
Good Luck

I am about to replace my tag lights as well.

did you have to disconnect the battery or pull a fuse before you did it?

Technically yes you probably should - but I didn't because there are just too many things programmed inside the car to bother with resetting (radio stations, seating memory, etc...) *Note: If you intend to reuse your OEM bulbs at a later date consider pulling them out with gloves on or some other means to keep finger oils off of the bulb glass as this will shorten their lifespan. Not a precaution needed when reinstalling the LED's.

I'd sure like a brighter trunk light. Is it possible to find a brighter bulb?

Where can the led bulb be purchased? I'm in Indianapolis and there doesn't seem to be ant place to find these. Is there any side affects by changing these plate lights. Don't want that. Is it really that easy and will it work without messing something else up. I do like the look.
