Heated Seats

Just checking to see how your seats work. I have had other cars with heated seats and they heat very quickly. This morning it was 32 degrees. I started the car and turned the seats on HI. I came out 30 minutes later and the seat was just a little warm. About 15 minutes into the drive the seats got hot. Does it always take this long?

It could be that since you weren't in the seat to get all the heat transfered to your body, it dissipated into the surrounding air...

I don't think so. I have a Navigator and an R Class Benz and never had this problem. I traded a Audi A3 on the Infiniti and when you let the car warm up in the AM the seats were always toasty.

No matter how cold it is outside, I can usually feel the heat within 5 minutes....

I have an appointment to drop off at the dealer ( 60 miles one way). Service says they have had issues with the seats.

I don't know about you guys... but I'm perfectly fine with my heated seats. Maybe I don't have the problems you guys have but I'm getting a feeling that you guys are very picky. Depending on the temperature around you, the seats could feel hotter than usual or whatever.

And yeah, mine takes about 2-3 minutes to kick in but I'm fine with it.

I think the heated seats are optimal, at least for me, the high setting gives heat in a minute of two, whereas the low setting can be left on all the time, gently toasting my a$$, without getting too hot.

I picked up my car from the Infiniti dealer last night. They performed the TSB on the heated seats and there is a huge difference. They heat up in about 2-3 minutes. It was worth the 70 mile one way drive!!

Wake up - start the car, go back inside and get ready for work, etc. Gets cold here in PA.

What, exactly, was the issue you were having with your seats?
Did you know that the TSB was for temperature differences, not because they warmed up slowly? Having said that, I doubt your heated seats heated up "faster" after your TSB.
2007 INFINITI G35 SEDAN; TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE WHEN USING HEATED SEATS
With the seat heater in the on position:
1. You confirm that there is a temperature difference between the driver’s seat and passenger’s seat.
AND/OR
2. There is a temperature difference between the bottom cushion and the backrest of the passenger seat.
