Anyone know how to Deactivate auto A/C on feature?

Hey guys...

I hate how the G has the auto A/C on feature which turns the A/C on everytime I cycle through the climate control modes and hit front window defrost.

My buddy has an Acura and he deactivated his by turning his CC **** to defrost and holding down 2 buttons for 30 seconds or something like that.

Is there some way this feature can be disabled on the G?

I will praise you endlessly

Just hit the A/C button. The defroster still works but the A/C is off. No way to bypass.

the whole point of the front defroster is to have it ON.

Ever have those days where the fan is blowing full blast but the front wont stop fogging for a few minutes? It's cuz you had the AC off.

You can have the AC on with the temp high if it's too cold for you.

AC pulls moisture out of the air, not make it cold; a lot of people have the misconcemption that AC means COLD.

True.
The AC insures that the window defroster won't fog up your windows.
Without it, you can easily fog up your windshield whether its hot or cold.

I find it annoying too. I wish it would turn off again after I cycle by the defrost. The Pathfinder does this too, I think its a Nissan thing.

I fully understand why it does this, it's just I feel I'm adding so much wear and tear on the A/C to keep having it turn on and then turn it off.

A typical drive...I start the car turn the car on, put heat to blow on "head". Once warm, I cycle through and put it on "feet and defrost" to keep that slight heat going, then have to click off the A/C as it's not needed. Periodically, I'll change it back to "head" or feet, etc. Gets annoying having to shut off the AC everytime I have to cycle through.

But I know I may be asking too much. I was fortunate that my Camry doesn't do this, nor did any of my older cars. I was hoping for a fix but I guess that's the catch with buying luxury, the AC will turn on automatically in case I'm too noob to realize it helps defrost the windshield.

If anyone does ever hear of a way to disable the auto ON, please post it.

Don't think you can deactive the auto AC mode.... I wish to do the same. By the way I find the MODE button annoying too, it seems to go for 'leg' then I have to press it few times to get it to 'face' area mode. I guess Nissan wanted to make 1 button insteads of 5+buttons or a dial with 5 settings.
