Headunit freezes when getting incoming call

Hi All,

I have been getting this problem intermittently which is really annoying with my 08 G35 with Non-Navi...

Sometimes, I would get a phone call (through Bluetooth), answer using the answer button on the steering wheel and the whole head unit would stop responding and stay stuck at the phone call screen.

The incoming call is functional... I can speak to the other person, but I need to hang-up using the phone... and the head unit still stays stuck at that same screen.

The only option I know of to get around that is the shut off the car and restart... which gets hard on the highway.

Has anyone ever seen or heard of this problem? Is there a way to restart the HU in the car without restarting the car itself?

Btw, the phone I use is the 3G iphone

I'm getting EXACTLY the same thing - answer the call, head unit freezes at :01 seconds, and I have to switch the freaking car off to reset. It's an iPhone problem, I didn't have a problem with my 1st gen iPhone, or my Razr.

Actually, I think it's an upgraded FW problem on the 3G, because it didn't previously do this

Mine too...
2008 G35X non-navi with apple iphone 3G.
I think it appears with the iphone firmware 2.1.
Before that the phone was working well with my G.
Hope apple will fix it in future firmware release.

Wow. SAME EXACT THING with me. Ever since I updated to FW 2.1, this always happens. This is the most annoying thing ever.

Let's get some feedback out there guys.

dont think its just the iphone. I have a dash and it does that sometimes. I just have to keep hitting hang up or turn my phone on/off. But if you hit status sometimes it goes away.

Different problem. The iPhone causes the system to be completely unusable without restarting the car.

BTW, the work-around is to answer the phone using the actual iPhone, not the car. Done that way, it didn't freeze the head unit last night.

Thanks for the feedback form, sent that in too...

i have the 3g and no issues.
well not really

musics playing and call comes in, music stops and car rings, i answer call with the wheel button, music starts playing for 1/2 a second, then stops and call starts, then i can hang up any way i want and it works. music resumes.

i have an 07 nav S and a 3g with 2.1

when i had my 2g iphone the music didn't start for the 1/2 second before the call started.
so the 3g is "different", iPhone OS 2.2 is pending to come in the next month or so, so wait for that i guess.

Same Issue Here

I am having the same issue. I have a 2007 g35x with no-nav and a first gen iphone. Everything was working just fine until I upgraded my iPhone to the latest software and now my headunit freezes sporadically. Just like everyone else, I need to shut off the car.

I am now also experience a problem where, if I answer the call with the steering wheel, the call drops off the screen and it returns to the status screen. The caller can actually hear me and the call is active but I cannot hear them and the screen on the car does not indicate and active call. Looks like we need to report this to Infiniti and Apple.

Has anyone noticed that when it doesn't freeze, the call gets connected pretty much immediately now without the back to radio delay? They fix one thing and then they screw something else up.
