Rim cleaning

I am about to wash my car, for the first time in a long time thanks to the weather . I Sevas S Star on my car. Is there anything i should or shouldnt use to clean them? I use regular car soap to wash it, and i have some serious cleaner i used to use on my stock rims. I am not going to use that, but i was wondering what i should use to clean them. Anyone got any good ideas? Thanks in advance.

you should be fine with regular car wash although some may advise againt it...
there are some good wheel cleaners out there for the future.
if your winter was anything like mine you'll probably have some oxidation on the tires. search my thread a while back about using mothers powerball and mothers billet metal polish---great results!

'Thank you very much. Yea, im in Long Island, so it wasnt too nice here. We didnt get that much snow, and i JUST put my rims on 3 weeks ago, so since then its been in the garage. Today is 50 out, so thats hot! I am just going to use the regular car wash, and be careful with it. Ill look into some future products, and ill do a search for your thread. Thanks again, just what i needed to hear before i started.

I always use the same soap that I wash the car with, just rinse well afterwards. I also use Wheelwax a couple times a year and it helps to keep them clean.

since they are chrome plated, they can be polished with a chrome/aluminum polish afterwards. A good claying would also be helpful to remove embedded contaminents on the surface of the chrome and paint

Wheelwax works great and the brake dust build up was not as bad after I started using it, and I would only apply it a few times a year.

+1 on the Wheelwax. You should wax your wheels just as you would wax your car. It'll help to keep your wheel finish looking newer longer.

Washing with regular car soap is fine.
